LOL when I moved house I said to the removal man, look mate I paid £1600 for you and your crew to move my entire house contents for 50 miles (and a first rate prfessional job they did too). The undertakers want £8000 to move one dead body a mile and a half up the road, looks like your in the wrong business.....
its more work to clean and prep every single part than just put it back together and spray the entire thing. there is no value in panting each thing by itself when the second it gets to the jobsite its going to get fucked up again.
Clyde bigsby lol I can assure you that there is nothing lazy about Foley. My grandfather worked with them for very many years purchasing all of his Cat equipment from them. If he didn’t like them he could’ve easily went to Giles & Ransome which was actually closer to his yard
i dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost the password. I love any tricks you can offer me
@Axel Amir I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Easy 100k What you saw here could be well over 250k Just that engine work they did was over 50k. Alone. Then u add all the tear down and rebuild man hours. Then add assembly and parts to that bill. Then throw a nice paint job in a paint both with proper prep work and your humming away with a 250k bill I bet.
James Smith coming from an auto mechanics point of view it just seems incredibly high of price for what their doing. Id love to see the breakdown of where the money is going because unless the parts are just completely unnecessarily overpriced it would seem to me that the shop is making at least $130k profit on a 250k rebuild job which is mind blowing 120k for parts seems very very wrong. Makes me consider going back to school to become a diesel mech.
Also think about it like this. Again from an auto mechanics point of view. Honda quoted my sister $1250 for new pads and rotors on her 2008 honda pilot. Without labor i installed monroe parts and did the exact job for $140. Thats a savings of $1,110. What would stop the cat owner from saving the cost of 1 or 2 new ferarris by doing the work himself if he had the tools and skills? Because surely if he did it himself it wouldnt cost over 250k. Id be hesitant to believe it would cost him over 50k. But hey im just a mechanic. Thoughts?
effinghamhick so what I did is I went online and research how much they cost so you can find them between 70 and 150k used I don't think anybody would spend 100K rebuilding one it really doesn't make much sense but it's possible
I think the last time was $65,000 some years ago on a D6H. I think It boils down more to sentimental value. Your machine and you want to bring it back to its newer status and the way it was then. Nothing better than confidence in a machine when it's dropped off on a larger job.
@@chechnya makes sense in the reliability aspect of buying a new emissions choked model that has egr and def issues.... pre-emmissions is so much more reliable as it has less electronics and not choked on fuel efficiency with exhaust aftertreatments.
Cummins Powered ab When I see Diesel engines today pouring out black, carbon emissions, I get pissed, because it fucks up the air you and I and six billion others breath! There’s more to moving earth than how cheaply it can be done.
Roy Lewis you shouldn’t worry about people breathing black smoke from these engines, it is filtered by our lungs. Gods way of letting us know he loves heavy equipment and big trucks.Hammer down!
TheRebelOne That’s not a crack, that’s the Grand Canyons little brother Graham Canyon!😂 That sucker is HUGE! on one side of the canyon is the shop where the dozer was and the other side of the canyon is the office where they keep all the cash from the refresh’s they do. That’s what’s causing it to separate lol!!
A skilled operator nicely works a big machine. CAT is a wonderful bulldozer and it is wonderful. Thank you from Japan.
Impressive. I couldn't put my weed whacker back together when I took it apart.
Take pictures before disassembly!hahaha
Lol don’t feel bad. Same thing happened to me.
Looks like the Foley boys hit another home run! Good job boys!
Да
Beautiful looking machine. Even before the spa treatment.....
So how much was that fluff and buff???
Although eight years down the line.
Equally interesting.
Thank you.
Just like doctors!!!!! Except you give the guy his money's worth!!!! Awesome!!!!!

Educational and fun to watch. Thanks guy's.
You guys did an awesome job.....way to go......:)
I love your videos ! thanks for sharing
unhurt cuh
You guys got like 10 people working on that at one. Our store only 1 tech doing that work with the occasional help from others.
Bringin er' new life!
Why not paint the various parts after disassembly before you put it back together?

I've definitely seen some stuff but I'm not saying anything
I wonder what this cost? Just curious...
what's a time frame for a rebuild like this?
i dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account?

@Jaiden Marcellus Instablaster ;)

@Axel Amir it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my account :D
@Jaiden Marcellus you are welcome :)
excellent job!
So…. How many hours did this actually take?
How long did it take to rebuild this ? and awesome video !
Just under 6 minutes.
Powertrain rebuild is over 100k. I was quoted close to 200k cad, for powertrain and some extras not a full rebuild. Full rebuild is more.
James Smith theres no way its 100k
Easy 100k

Chris W : cat is making money that would have gone to someone else. I think it’s s business strategy.
A beautiful giant
Very nice job.
Just out of curiosity how many man hours does it take to rebuild a dozer like that?
Was wondering the same thing!
That is a damn fine job guys great job
Bet that cost a few bucks. Impressive!
Why paint after assembly?
After all that work, why not paint the tracks?
Cuz it would be wore off by the time they got it back on the trailer...
I wanna work there
Whoops that motor didn't turn out, -4 ftlb -1 Hp.....
A good used 1998-2001 model, with about 7k hours can cost about 70k USD. So I imagine a rebuild is about 15 to 20k usd

I wonder how much it cost to overhaul, compared to buying a new Cat.
@Benaiah Ahmadinejad That makes zero sense. A rebuild is probably 1/4 of the cost of new

Nice
Time somebody repaired the crack in the asphalt at 5:14....🙄

Foarte tare
Cat is really good stuff but i pick the swedish steel
Why did it need built?
it had over 9,000 hours on it; various parts in the machine wear out over time that need to be replaced.
i wounder how much it cost to do this.
Very nic 🇹🇬👍🏻
I get problem with power trend please help me out
Dónde está cuánto vale
thats what i.m talking about.
That machine really looked like it didn’t need that work doing
major work is done by hours not by looks, it to prevent major failure on job site.
Routine maintenance saves lives
It's called preventative maintenance. You don't fix the engine once it's grenaded itself and has a hole on the side of the block.
TehHijack some companies do. And they still never learn
Зверь💪💪💪💪
Are you hiring?
If that cost a dime over $100 you got ripped off
