Like they all say, Chad. “It’s gonna get worse before it gets better”. Those breaks just need to be like on both sides and maybe that’ll help. I might buy you one for the channel

I'm planning on installing hydraulic disc brakes on my mower and this really helped, seeing how you mounted your brake has given me so great ideas. Interesting idea with the deck high adjuster and your brake handle, on my mower I was planning on using the blade engagement as my handbrake and the hydraulic brake lever somewhere else.

Good engineering to get that to adapt. Would be interested in seeing if clearance would allow that disc to be mounted to the pinion pulley to serve as a pinion brake to both rear wheels.

    • @chud327

If the caliper bracket was a little longer Could've used it as the location for the brake hose to go in, so the exposed cable wouldn't be so long, instead of making a separate bracket for it

  • @starpuss

Why did you not weld the brake hub right to the wheel hub?
Not worried that the weld will weaken the harden shaft?

why didn't you just weld the disk brake hub to the wheel hub . it would have been 100 percent serviceable. Disks on both sides would be great. prevent it from diving to the left on hard braking , unless you weld up the diff.
