Epic! Congratulations on this huge project. The VRL is an amazing and unique synthesizer. In a world full of awesome synths, it stands out as a singular instrument that takes analog to new and exciting places. Cheers. :)
I loved the VRL1, but if I could make a suggestion for the VRL2 - which looks like a bigger brother to the TAIGA knob-wise and colour-wise - please consider making the lights a bit less bright, as the TAIGA in low light - or even daylight conditions - it was impossible to see the text or parameter markings .. I kept getting blinded by the bright lights. Or maybe I'll just ask for a custom version that uses the same color scheme as the VRL1 ... 😁Thank you!
You made all the animal sounds using the brand new Voltage Lab 2 !?😮 Even those crazy monkeys screaming? They do sound a bit quantized...😅 Very excited to see and hear more about this... it's almost like Pittsburgh Modular finally gave birth to the Voltage Lab 2 after being in labor for four years ❤. CONGRATS!!!🎉
I‘ve still have the VRL and it‘s one of my favourite synths! Thanx to creat this unique instrument…and never mind the „fold the unfoldable“;-) greetings🖖👽
I like the trippy Memetune-adjacent vibe. This reminds me... Last time I was in Pittsburgh I was supposed to run the Pittsburgh Marathon. I got three piercings, got drunk at the top of the Duquesne Incline, got baked at a Penguins game, skipped the marathon, and then went north 30 miles to shoot an AK-47 on some farm.
I like the Vrl module so much its my favorit, and finally the time has come to revel a different one. By the way the colorful knobs of taiga are not my personal aesthetic.
Proud owner of the VRL Blackbox and just before this video went up I was discovering even new sounds with it after owning it for 4 years, the music in this video though? Is it from VRL or VRL 2 cos I gotta say there's some territories I'm hearing here that I haven't explored. I won't be able to afford the VRL2 for quite a while but I'd be very inspired if these sounds all came from the OG?
@@pittsburghmodular I think I recall you saying these would be mass produced and widely available so I could easily pick one up a year down the line? "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in"
@@pittsburghmodular by the way, it's Chris here, I met Rich in the tents one evening at superbooth last year and showed him my expressive monosynth Wiggler. I'll be there this year with my own table and a new Wiggler. Hope we can catch up again! Looking forward to trying your new instruments.

Oh boy! Time to prepare my wallet!
I can't believe it's been 5 years since the original Voltage Lab. So excited for the new one.

@@pittsburghmodular you may laugh, but I'd totally order one if your site made them available 😜 Also, Toad shirts?

Sounds like a full day. You are welcome to visit the next time you are in town.
Yay!!!
i have a mk1, it's one of my most cherished belongings. how is the VRL 2 different that the mk1?
Quite a bit different. Check out the live stream for a detailed breakdown
Aaaaaaahhhhh I can't wait
F@*# Yeah! This already sounds amazing. I hope I can afford it.

Sorry about the knobs.
Woot!
Still enjoying my VRL. Onwards!
HYPE ! Will this be available to order on may 14th ?
Yes, orders start May 14.
@@pittsburghmodular Any luck with EU reseller/distributor? :)
@@GiulianoAnzani Yes! VL2 will be available worldwide
😍

Sounds are the VL2 but you could certainly adapt the patches to the VL1. They will not sound the same but that is not a bad thing.

lovely video! Very good monkey sound synthesis
80% of our research budget is dedicated to monkey and bird sounds.

I mean, how else are you gonna get your alien bird and bug sounds?
truth
it's 90hp, 6U? or 45hp x2?
6U x 90hp
Oh wow, if that's what I saw in the last section of the video then I need a new case.
It includes a very nice case. But if you want to take out the 90hp modules and put them in a larger system you certainly can.
Jumpsuits would have been great, but lab coats are definitely better.
I would have looked even more ridiculous in a jumpsuit. Maybe in 10 years time for VL3?
I really liked the last Blackbox but then “pfff!” it was gone and a sequel never arrived 😕
The sequel took much longer than I hoped but I think you'll like it.
How’d it laugh like a hyena that’s badass
The wildlife patch will be in the manual
Send me a review model. I'll be the judge mister.
