super cool!! I am planning on joining the "smiles per gallon" club very soon and this is exactly what I want! A full roof/low profile roof rack. Thanks for sharing, this gave us very useful info
Looks awesome! Would be a good idea if you haven’t done yet, to put a strip of paint protection film on the roof just under the front faring to avoid damage to the paint. Saw this happen with a friends rack. Super smart to get some accessories for mounting. Can’t wait to see future videos 😃
Looks great and thank you for the video. Any issues at all with rust so far? I know it’s a little early but thought I’d ask if any. I’m a little hesitant about installing mine due to some reviews. Also thought about adding paint protective film for the wind fairing.
I live in the absolute worst testing environment for this. We have gotten zero rain, after that little shower that was in the video. The only other water exposure has been a trip to the self-service car wash. No leaks detected, and definitely no rust. And yes, on the paint protection. I've seen that recommended by a few different people.
I bought the Tyger roof rack off Amazon for my 4runner. It's not as sleek as the Prinsu but at only ($700) it still looks badass and is rock solid! And even came with 4 hand holds, 4 tie down eyelets and mounting brackets for an awning. I'm totally happy with it. I even drilled the extra holes in the roof and installed rivet nuts so it's anchored all along it's length and it increases the weight rating from 400 to 600lbs static.
Congrats on this one. Doing anything like this is so frustrating without thorough instructions, having to guesstimate galore, and search online for fellow owners experiences just sucks all around. What's it take for manufacturers to get it together? I could see the struggle in your red sweaty face! The t-shirt is appropriate for the job.😜
Have you considered temporarily removing the back seats from your 4Runner? If so, how do you think the extra internal volume would improve your comfort while camping?
I've considered it, but the only space I would really gain would be in the foot well. Also, I would have to find a place to store them. Turns out, having them there has provided some benefits, like, I can rest my cot frame on top of them, as well as a "nightstand" of sorts, and velcro'd some cargo nets to the undersides. If I traveled for longer periods, it might be worth it to me, but as a short trip taker, it isn't really.
Still having fun....
Don't feel bad, I came *this close* to drilling new holes on my roof because I had the new rails backwards. So glad I thought about it first.
Thanks for all the great videos! 🎉
Thanks for filling in the blanks left behind from the manufacturer's instructions and additional tips.

Nice job on this! Still trying to picture what goes on top, and how it gets mounted. Future video, I'm sure!
This was very interesting! Can’t wait to see the next episode 🩷
I love my Prinsu rack!
So inspiring. Thanks Martha, you rock!

Yikes - that's scary! Thanks for the heads-up!
No problem. Who knew, right? 🤷♀️ It’s like a sandpaper effect happens when dirt get trapped under the fairing.
That was a project, well done!!
Waiting for my 3/4 version to arrive! I’m having it installed though.
Congrats and wise decision!
THANK YOU!👌🏼
Looks good. 😃 👍

Funny thing is I nearly bought one of those off FB Marketplace, but the dude never responded, so when they went on sale - a new Prinsu it was!

Right?! The 112° heat certainly didn't help my patience or mental clarity either. 😅
Hmmm, searching for one for my Crosstrek now. :D

10:10 I thought this was CGI. From my vantage point, I see twins.
maybe it was 😏
