Good demonstration of the capabilities of the zed-f9p. I'm using it in Agriculture. Tractor autosteer for a fraction of the cost of commercial systems that are available.
These coordinates are save, so we can use a GPS guide drone or little car to go on the same UBLOX marks...great. Ill make my little farm tractor to do some work by itself. Thanks for sharing.
This centimeter precision, multi-constellation GNSS will, for sure become a standard for autonomous unmanned transportation. Congratulations u-Blox ! Definitely, Switzerland is synonymous for high precision !
The greatest success to you, I wanted you to help me how I could incorporate the C099-F9P kit in a little box with BlueTooth and Radio, for the field with a stick, antenna, android phone, for precision terrain surveys, thank you very much in advance from the country of Ecuador.
you probably dont care at all but does anybody know a trick to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost my login password. I would appreciate any help you can give me
@Alexander Junior i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
From what I understand, it takes hours for the base station to reach cm accuracy. Is this correct? How long would you need to wait to reach full accuracy again if you moved the base receiver?
I'm tryng to use two of these to use a configuration rover-base, bur when I connect both, the signal never stay okay, it just stay with the flag: "3D / FLOAT" or "3D / DGNSS" in the Fix Mode report. I think that might I'm not getting config correctly the C099-F9P board on U-center.
Thanks a lot for the tutorial. What is the maximum allowable distance between RTK base and RTK rover in case of a stable real time wireless data link? Regards, AB
I'm going to buy one, and dramatically improve the accuracy of my local maps, especially trail maps, where GPS is extremely challenged. May still need to do some triangulation in difficult canopy environments, but seems like way less work than it would otherwise would be. Also looking at the IMU sensor fusion ones for fixed-wing UAVs, though those seem to rely on a ground vehicle model.
Multipath error is quite nasty for GPS units. In somewhat dense forest, you will have good horizontal accuracy but your vertical accuracy will suffer. Even with RTK corrections, I am finding errors in determining vertical reliable positioning using ZED-F9P. But you'd face this problem with any GPS.
The IMU would seem to be a great supplement to the RTK when GPS is blocked but as you say, the sparse information available indicates the IMU is geared to a ground vehicle and in one note I saw it indicated the IMU incorporated wheel ticks. What would be a hiker based analog for that - a pedometer?
Thanks. A colleague and I, we want our 360 camera manufacturer Labpano to include this in a camera of theirs as soon as possible, to provide better photo mapping precision for Google Maps Street View and Mapillary. If you have anything that gives us even better ideas, then greatly appreciated.
Is it true the ZED-F9P requires internet connection, which means is useless while camping or hiking? The android app that connects via bluetooth requires Real Time Network.
Hi Paul, the ZED-F9P will provide robust meter-level accuracy without an internet connection. In fact, it's likely one of the most accurate mass-produced GPS/GNSS receivers in precisely that situation (it's big advantage is that it's seeing multiple frequencies on all 4 major constellations) -- i.e. check out the outstanding analysis by Andrew Tridgell: discuss.ardupilot.org/t/comparing-a-ublox-zed-f9p-gps-with-a-m8p-without-external-corrections/43435 For clarification -- in order for the receiver to provide centimeter-level accuracy, you will need external information from a "corrections" source -- this is because the receiver only achieves centimeter-level accuracy via a technique called RTK: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real-time_kinematic
Hi Roby Just wanted to say I really appreciate that blog you wrote titled Then taming of the ublox Zed-f9p well done mate Also did you reach 1cm accuracies on your mower ?
Hi Zahir I'm not a surveyor but the ZED-F9P will give you cm-level accurate position -- note that Emlid (emlid.com) has just released a surveying receiver based on the ZED.
I hope so. I have one in the mail which I intend to use for just this case, GCP for drone photogrammetry of Forest canopy. Can't wait to test it out! Once I have it working as a base station taking GCP I plan to get another unit, to put on the Drone as a rover. I will be working in remote locations which don't often have mobile reception so I will have to figure out post processing also. If anyone has done this I would like to hear about it.
Hi I’m wondering how did you set it up to get so good data readings did you use a rtf base or was it just the ublox antenna? Did it calibrat for a long time? Or did you put in the longitude and latitude?
Hi Michael -- I used a cheap survey antenna you can get for ~100USD (from, say, the dominant online auction website) for the base station -- here's the video showing configuration for both base and rover: ruclips.net/video/FpkUXmM7mrc/видео.html -- for getting the longitude / latitude of the base station, I've got a free local public CORS service (Alabama, USA) that I can use to get a cm-accurate location -- if you don't have this, the ZED-F9P has a feature called Survey-In that will get you close enough for most robotics applications
Hello robo amazing demonstration and performance. I am very interesting of buying this but I want to use it with my Android Phone. Is it possible to be connected and could you provide with some information sites; projects, how to etc.
Hey Roby. I'm developing a prototype and I'd like to incorporate some geolocation into it, could I maybe talk with you on the phone sometime soon and pick your brain a little bit?

Great demo. What is the source of RTCM data?
Great demo, so this is using Live RTK (Status : 3D Fixed) in case anyone was wondering ;-)

Using two of there in agriculture, one as base station, other as rover to autosteer my tractor. Amazing bit of kit!
my aim is that too. Canyou tell me which video or source did u use to make it?

Have you explored the limitations of this module? I think it'd be an interesting video.
Amazing performance, can't wait to get my hands on one of those :)

@Alexander Junior it worked and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much you saved my ass !
@Kai Kyle No problem :D
Gents, Can you please help with link to buy GPS and Antenna..TIA🙏
Thanks for the demonstration. How are you able to zoom in on the map in u-center? My map seems to go back to 100% no matter what kind of trix I try.
From what I understand, it takes hours for the base station to reach cm accuracy. Is this correct? How long would you need to wait to reach full accuracy again if you moved the base receiver?
Congratulations on the video!!! Did you use NTRIP patches in this video?
How are you getting so accurate measurements. On my ZED F9P the marker madly draw lines randomly
can you connect zed-f9p to android phone? can you manage work of gnss ublox from phone?
such app as Nuwa, landstar, surpad else.
Hi Robo Roby, thanks for a great, instructive video! One thing I'm not sure of. Were you using RTK for this video? Thanks again.
can we connect this to a flight controller on ardupilot or is it CAN only

What is Your Update time , Is your Rover configuration is 1hz or 10 hz
so the position we get is the position of the antenna not the receiver ?
I’m getting one of those for sure
How accurate is it in elevation? Also in centimeters? Thanks
I have seen 13mm height accuracy after ppk data of 4 hours
Thanks a lot for the tutorial.

@@snowbank8617 this particular setup is tied to a vehicle model. After doing some work, there is some extra challenge in models for walking.

RTK engaged ?
Wow, try putting that on your fpv
Thanks for the Video. can you please advice me on how to connect the ZED-F9P with arduino board please.

What is the most suitable Wireless Real time data link technology for Real Time Kinematic corrections forwarding?
Hello robo amazing demonstration and performance. I am very interesting of buying this but I want to use it with my Android Phone. Is it possible to be connected and could you provide with some information sites; projects, how to etc.
Hi for this demonstration, did you also use another GPS receiver as base or you did the testing just using the standalone configuration ?
Hi Mirko -- I used a ZED-F9P base station -- here's the video showing configuration for both base and rover: ruclips.net/video/FpkUXmM7mrc/видео.html
INSANE
What are the softwares/applications required in your computer to use this antenna?
Hey Roby. I'm developing a prototype and I'd like to incorporate some geolocation into it, could I maybe talk with you on the phone sometime soon and pick your brain a little bit?
I'd be happy to pay you for your time as a consultant as well.
Made a comparison to the M8 here : ruclips.net/video/_csO7KoQby0/видео.html
Does it also work vertically?
