Suggestion, that I've found useful myself over time - when you've got a tall, nasty mess like this? Set it full-high, and don't try to bag the first pass, just discharge it. By the time you're done with the first cutting, the wind will have taken a surprisingly large amount of the water out, and will make bagging it on a second pass a TON easier. Also, half-passes will help stop the overloading and shutdowns. :)
Thank you for posting this! I just purchased my first home and mower this year and not looking forward to the first mow of the neglected yard. Does the hungry hippo maneuver work with battery mowers? (Tilt mower up and let the blade cut from the top.) So glad I bought an Ego. This looks a lot less stressful than a gas mower!
@@rebeccab3141 It will, but I find it rather tiresome compared to just setting it up high and taking narrower passes. A lot of it depends on *exactly* your cut conditions. One really nice thing about the Ego - you're not going to hurt it trying stuff. There's no harm at all done by the over-load shutdowns like you see here, that's the mower protecting itself from an overheat. Won't hurt the mower in the least. :)
It was painful watching you mow, I would suggest you start with the outside perimeter. Then choose your staring point from that. Other diagonal cuts or straight cuts. That way you work from one side of the yard to the other and don't have to guess what you've cut for what you haven't good luck
Looks like where i live brother lol I would have sprayed the weeds with spectricide for lawns while they have so much surface area. Then wait a couple days and mow.
You should have at least a string trimmer, so you can "frame" your property before mowing. When mowing, start high and discharge. Make long and consistent passes, gradually working down to desired height. Bag on final pass, if desired.
No one even mentioned the crocks? I wish I lived nearby, I’d gladly come over to show you how to tackle this. Will be looking forward to seeing some improvement over the season. Don’t despair!
You want to take it slow over the thick stuff. And also just go over uncut area half the width of your mower. You have to do that even with gas powered mowers because they can stall too.
I thought these lawnmowers were suppose to be barely make sound. I seen comments where people said they can cut at night or at 6 am and not wake the neighbors up
Use a weed eater and cut most of it and use your mower to go over couple passes. Or go highest setting then lower it. Don't expect your mower to get everything once
@@OttoGudge Well, keep up the attack. You have access to Tenacity and I don't being in Canada. However, I put "weed control" on the weeds, which won't kill weeds, but inhibit them. I dethatched and I seeded. When the seeds germinated, fertilized with starter fert. The grass out competed the weeds. Three years ago, I started my journey. I'm now at one inch height with minimal to no weeds. If I had Tenacity life would have been easier, but I did it without.
I almost thought this video was a joke. You couldn't have done more things wrong if you tried. I'm sure your neighbors don't appreciate the way you let your lawn turn into a weed garden.
@@OttoGudge yes get yourself some t-zone it will kill all those weeds in about seven days. Make sure you fertilize and feed micro nutrients every month.
From what other folks commented, I had the mower setting too low. I should have raised it higher and well, I was trying to cut as much grass off in one setting so that lead to the stopping. Additionally, this will happen on gas mowers as well.

Thanks a bunch, I'll definitely give that a try next time!!

Keep trucking bro! Your doing great 👍🏻 keep learning, keep posting 😊
Thanks! Will do!

Thanks for the feedback!
Definitely need a lawn rehab brotha there’s some really good information on here.
Agreed, I've gotten some really good advice on here.
The lawn care nut. $7 for a beginner training course with tons of information.
Thanks, I'll look into it.

Thanks for the advice!! I'll be sure to give it a try
As a elite green yarder, you had the perfect setup to kill your backyard weeds with products such as Tenacity, TZone, and Speedzone.
Thank you for the advice
All on one battery? I recently decided to acquire a battery mower and it works great…
Yes
Looks like your first time ever cutting grass 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Was it that bad 😞

well it might be easier if you raise the lawnmower up to 4 inches the cut the lower it again 2 inches and then cut and lower it to desired cut
I'll be sure to give this a try next time, thank you for the feedback!

Thanks for the support!! RUclips will make a pro out of me!
That mower should go to a better home lol😂😂😂😂
User error!
Most of my neighbors leave grass to grow this long before they cut it. Gas mowers also struggle but they do not cut out like battery mowers.
Thanks for the feedback

It's not as loud as a gas but you still hear sounds from it. I wouldn't use it to cut at night or 6 am

Thanks for the feedback, my expectation was to get it all at once.
@OttoGudge maybe Honda HRN 217 can do that but not an EGO. Your mower is one of the best electric but don't expect too much
Thank you!
Bro 😂 come on
Help me! 👀
I think you may have a weed infestation...
Agreed, lawn rehab is currently in progress 👌

Love the feedback!! God bless.
weeds?...
I don't see any weeds
I have no idea what they are lol I'm new to this

Lawn Rehab coming soon, stay tuned.
Take that mower back and get your money refunded as soon as you can then hire a professional to mow your yard every other week
Thank you sir
Is this video some sort of sick joke?
Absolutely not, what are your recommendations for improvement
