One False Move is tremendous 👍I’d never heard of it until a friend lent me his laserdisc copy of the film back in 2022. I was staggered at how good it was and also stunned that there hadn’t been a mainstream release since the barebones DVD from like 2000…. which of course had been long out of print.
I've been watching your videos for a few months now. I love how approachable your content is. I'm also tempted to buy a region free player now (yikes on the wallet). Thanks again!
Great video, Elliot! Very helpful to learn more about some of those titles. Also, really love your idea to start highlighting films that are locked in on the various streaming services. I’ve started noticing this more and more. It seems like there are plenty of good to great films flying under the radar so I’m all for more of those being brought to physical release.
I worked for Blockbuster in the 90s and thanked God for Lone Star when it arrived. We had 2 copies that I would constantly recommend to whoever would listen. Hidden gem.
Netflix will not release the rest of the Mike Flanagan horror series on blu -ray ( Fall of the House of Usher, Midnight Mass, Midnight Club ) but Criterion may not consider them worthy of a release on physical media but i keep hoping.
I had a great deal of respect for Criterion films, until I found they had 'The Young Girls of Rochefort' and 'Valley of the Dolls' among their collection. One of the worst movie musicals ever made and a third rate soap with nothing to recommend it whatsoever. Count me out.
For more recommendations, I have an older video on 'beginner' Criterion films - ruclips.net/video/g9gf6B81BVI/видео.html
and Thelma & Louise 4K still has £5 off in the UK here - amzn.to/3VZIAak
I love the passion here.
Thank you!

Thank you so much for the lovely words! Yikes on the wallet indeed. I know the pain!
Elmer and Louise is one of my favorites!
One False Move is an incredible film, and I was super happy to see it get the Criterion treatment. Fantastic stuff. Lone Star is really great too.

Great list. Love Criterion and love your recommendations.
I would love to see a Criterion release of the Netflix film, I'm Thinking Of Ending Things"
Masterpiece imo.
Lonestar is amazing. Such a beautiful transfer.

I'm waiting for a 4K release on La Bamba.
lone star and one false move where among my fav films of the 90s. i've picked up the lone star 4k but not one false move yet.
They really are two of the better 90s films that don’t get as much love as they should. Thanks for watching!
Walter Huston’s entrance in ‘All that Money Can Buy’ is one of the best villain entrances I’ve seen on film.
It’s such a shame that the Trainspotting Criterion 4K blu ray isn’t available over here.
I’m gonna get 'All That Money Can Buy' - hadn’t heard of it until this video, and it intrigues me. Thanks for the heads-up 👍
It’s very good. I hope you enjoy it!
Webster is a folk tale. Like fairy tales that’s where gothic horror comes from & early American cinema knew that.

Just want to say thanks so much for what you do bro!
My pleasure and thank you for supporting me!
I would also recommend Saint Omer, The Runner and To Die For another brilliant 4k, all recent releases.
