    Terrific video. Once I got the the adapter connected to my iPhone and enabled the Jscan in the privacy settings to allow access to it, everything worked perfectly to the instructions in this video. I had even taken my 2017 JK Wrangler to American's Tires just this morning and they just put air in the tires and told to drive for 15 minutes. No luck with that. With the Jscan tool the problem was quite obvious as low pressure warning was set to 299psi. Once I set it to 30psi using Jscan and drove around the block, the light went out. Thanks for this info! One of the all time best instructional videos I've seen!

    Thanks so much for sharing this. I actually already had the JScan app and the same adapted as you. I got it for the same reason! I'd even had the same experience with tire shops and quoted repair. I'd worked out how to just turn it off. I had absolutely no clue that I could actually set the threshold within the app! Thank you again soon so much!

    Thanks!, I got the app and a cheap OB11 device a while ago and soon gave up. Watching this video inspired me to take another chance and I purchased the V-gate device, plugged it in, waited for it to auto connect and within a couple of minutes following your steps that pesky light was gone.

    Great advice on the TPMS problem!
    Have the same problem, all 4 tires were just replaced and inflated to spec. It has to be the settings! Going to buy the adapter and download the APP!
    Thanks for the valuable info.! 👍👍

    For those of you who suggest to just put black tape on the tire icon, well that’s great for day time but at night the dash lights remain on high, no doubt for some illogical “safety” reason.
    I followed this video to the letter and except that I used the wi-fi connection this works perfectly. It really is as simple as he shows.
    Plug the module in. Buy a single VIN license. Go to the appropriate area of the OBD JScan app. And turn off the stupid light!
    My TPMS light came on in 2013. It got fixed today in literally 10 minutes.

    Same issue - Super easy fix - THANKS for pointing this out - it was driving me nuts !!! . Jscan can also do literally everything else all the other specific programmers do + some things my traildash II does not cover - with the exception of tuning presets ( tow mode, intake exhaust mods etc ) .

    • @veryconfusing
      @veryconfusing Год назад

      @@montecristo9191 I played around with all of the TPMS settable options - It actually took the "reset/reboot all modules" then setting is to 36PSI and then apply - twice - before it finally seemed to fully reset and have everything back to normal. Since then I have had this re-occur when I changed out a TPMS sensor in a wheel - once again there was an odd set of values suddenly in one of the TPMS fields. . . messed around again . . .reset it all more than once and set to a new threshold ( a pound or two lower ) and . . . fixed it again.

  • @edaffron

    Worked perfectly. I already had the jscan app but didn't realize I could change this threshold. I lowered it to the bottom which is 29 and the light went off a few minutes after driving

    Can you use the the app to relearn the TPMS sensor or as a tester to see if the sensor is good ?

    • @purdurnr
      @purdurnr  2 года назад +1

      I was able to inspect each Sensor. It can scan and provide data. However, I did not know what could be done. I just validated they were recognized and were sending valid data. Could read all the vendor and data fields. So if someone knew what they were reading, it may be useful. Don’t know about “relearn”. Best would be to explore on own and you may be able to see writable fields that could initiate or reset.

    Thanks for posting the video! Great info... curious, I think you mentioned you have a 2012 JK (I have the same)... in the link you provided on the JScan page it didn't look like it supported the TPMS on a 2012 JK? Before I pulled the trigger, just wanted confirmed your model year and it worked for you. Also if anyone else has any experience with JScan with a 2012 or prior model year I'd love their feedback.. thanks again!

    • @kyledando224
      @kyledando224 Год назад

      I would argue against leaving plugged in! I was leaving it in and was bored at a stop light one day. Messed around with the app and all the sudden the JScan smoked! Replaced it and. Ow I don’t leave in or mess with it much when driving. You can, but I think it should be exception. I just leave it in my arm rest so I can plug it in whenever I want to look at something.
