For anyone who wants to attempt the shiny tatsugiri hunt heres a tip: each of the different tatsugiri will perform a different action depending on their forms. That means if you see an orange one that doesnt curl up, its a shiny droopy form.
I managed to get the 3 forms of shiny tatsugiri relatively quickly by just looking out for orange and white ones. And how they pose when approached.
i was hunting for any shiny tatsugiri and managed to get one with a sandwich and the other 2 full odds right after
I also have all 3 shiny the white one took way too long to appear ended up getting 2 of each shiny before the white one
droopy is the pink one that turns white
stretchy is the yellow one that sticks out
curly is the orange one that...curls
an orange one that doesnt curl is the shiny stretchy
I had used this method when I hunted mine and it makes things way easier when you realise this

I made a Silly mistake. I put the Shiny Rate as 1/2048 which was the Egg Hatching Shiny Chance with SHiny Charm. The Shiny Rate for catching a pokemon with shiny charm is actually 1/1365.67

Wait... Isn't the shiny chance for hatching eggs ALSO 1/1367? Since the base odds go from 1/4096 to 3/4096...

@Bobby Liink 1 shiny roll = 1/4096. Shiny Sharm = +2 Shiny rolls and breeding Foreign Masuda pokemon = +5 extra rolls, so the Masuda Method with charm = 1+2+5= 8 Shiny rolls. The chance is 1/512 not 1/580.

The different Tatsugiri forms have different idle animations. You can use this to help you distinguish regular orange ones with shiny yellow ones.
Also you shoulda hunted for the Tauroses too, those are pretty hard to hunt due to the subtle difference and the fakeouts from the lighting...

I randomly encountered a shiny Tatsugiri that was white. I screamed in joy because I never thought I would get one.

I did my tatsugiri hunt before I even had the shiny charm about a month back and got all three using a strategy; turning the sound on and listening to their cries. Yes, it’s true that you can look at their different poses, but that would also require you to at least squint. Their cries, on the other hand, are different for each of the three forms, and a shortened version of them plays when you get close to one and make it do it’s pose. If you can memorize them it can save a lot of the hassle of zooming in or squinting. I immediately knew I found a shiny when I approached a bright orange tatsugiri but it’s cry sounded off from the curly (bright orange) form's.

I got my random dunsparce in area zero and try to evolve it after two weeks not realizing it was a 3 segmented one. I was so happy and that was my first shiny dunsparce in area zero too. So guess i was just so lucky.
So none of you tatsugiri used memento? I didn’t even know what that move did I used false swipe and it used memento and boom it was gone

I caught three shiny Dunsparce from a sandwich, and was super lucky that the first one I caught was the 3-segment!
If you look away from the gens. I did this a few months ago, the shiny 3 maushold took me under 5 minutes, the 3 segment dudunsparce took me 2 days, the tatsugiris took about a day and the shiny autentic Sinistea about 3 days.
I also caught the shiny Lycanroc dusk form that took some hours.

The three segment took me 10 minutes, the shiny Magikarp took me six hours.wattrel and cutiefly were accidentally ran into while running.
Lapras took me a day.

Just doing inverse colours on switch makes tandemaus stand out so much more when shiny
It's funny how you got your 3 segmented Dudunsparce with a few tries when Shiny Catherine had to evolve around 300 Dunsparce 😂
For those that didn't notice, Tatsugiri resembles and is a slight play on words for the food "Nigiri". Which is basically raw fish layed across a lump of rice. Tatsugiri is the fish, sitting on a white puff (rice).

The first dudunspace I encountered in area Zero was a 3 segmented one. You can find it in the wild, just still rare
I got my shiny 3 family maushold at 11 taundamaus, 3 segment dudunsparce was at 5 dunsparces and got the authentic shiny sinistea at 30 shiny sinistea. Currently hunting a second authentic shiny sinistea.
Someone has evolved over 200 shiny dunsprace and no 3 segment. Your luck is insane

I was shiny hunting for a Red Gyarados during an outbreak and I randomly found a shiny Dondozo and then shortly right after I found a shiny Veluza. Didn't eat a sandwich and I didn't have any luck on the red Gyarados but hey im happy that I found 2 random shines that I wasn't looking for.
I had a sandwich run out right before I saw a shiny Veluza 🤦♂️😀
And caught a second shiny Veluza today without a sandwich when resetting a Slowbro outbreak 😀

I was playing my badge quest file a few days ago after not playing for a bit. I was hatching eggs and all of a sudden shiny Steenee. After catching steenee I decided to hatch eggs while wondering around looking for shiny Bisharp (cause it’s cool) first thing I see when I fly in Is shiny Passiman. After finishing my eggs I decide to try and shiny hunt Indeedee (a shiny I’ve wanted for a long time) while wondering around I found a shiny Scorvillian. Finally I found a shiny Male Indeedee. This all happened in the space of 4 hours.
Always! I spent 3 hours looking for a shiny psyduck only to find a shiny chew tile followed along by a shiny drednaw!
Just fast attack every orange tatsugiri you see instead of zooming. You don't need to see idle animations or zoom.
I got lucky with the Tatsugiri hunt. I only used 3 sandwiches and got all 3 with an extra brown one plus a shiny dratini bonus. Its much easier on one of the islands at the edge of the lake.

When my friend first shiny hunted tandemaus, he got 2 for a living dex, and only ever evolved one. I told him he should've checked both, and months later, lo and behold he checks and learns that his first tandemaus was a fucking family of three!
My very first tandemaus in gen 9 turned out to be a family of 3... I wish I had my friend's luck instead :/
The Shiny Dudunsparce part of the video gave me flashbacks to following ShinyCatherine's hunt for the same thing; 299 shiny dudunsparce, 298 two segment and one 3 segment.
I got all three and just used the regular sandwiches. I wasn’t lucky enough to have any of the Herba Mysticas. 3:03 And yes, they do. It’s like the Zigzagoon (SwSh) and the Chansey (L,P& L,E) of SV. I just wanted a Shiny Mimiku/Hatenna and Growlithe/Vulpix, respectively.
Yeah like I'm not into Shiny hunting now, as I was Tiny Hunting I accidentally encountered a shiny Psyduck, shiny Chansey, shiny tandemaus on each hunt.
I spent 3 days and 2 nights amount of hours, attempting to find a shiny slowpoke to make slowking... i gave up after the 4th day 😂
I've done over 180 phases for the 3 fam maushold and still dont have it had to take a break

I randomly found Tandemaus while I was town resetting an Eevee outbreak. I found it, and also got 11 Eevee and a Meowth, easily the most fun I have had on the game, beside the story itself.
My first shiny EVER was in my nemona file. It was a cufant. No outbreaks. No shiny charm OR sandwiches. I was just going to get my orthworm and BOOM shiny! No marks but first catch for the dex tho!

you can also press the left bumper to easily zoom in on the shiny without having to turn on the settings!

Yeah I agree so much like one time i was searching for a shiny lycanroc and out of NOWHERE I found a shiny Hawlucha which was confusing because I had made a rock shiny sandwich and ended up founding a shiny flying/fighting without the Shiny Charm

I did a pink tatsugiri shiny hunt using an outbreak today, first shiny I found was Golduck :D
I was using a dragon sparkling, title and tiny power sandwich (cucumber, pickle, 3x avocado (drop one slice when making sandwich), sour and bitter herba).
The shiny tatsugiri I found sadly had no mark nor small enough to get the tiny mark :(

I am the master of having non-outbreak shinies show up. Ive found a shiny nosepass during a geodude outbreak, a shiny pawmo during the clefairy outbreak event, shiny gogoat during a bronzong outbreak and a shiny golduck during a vaporeon outbreak

Shiny Tatsugiri was nothing, because I found shiny Tynamo (it makes finding wild shiny tandemaus look easier) I found all three shiny Tatsugiri I found both curly and droopy forms in the wild and I bred for stretchy form.
I evolved some many dudunsparce in area zero, that I'm convinced that 3 segement don't exist. I've caught so many :( I just want a regular 3 segement one!

If you have the DLC a dinosaur e outbreak will spawn in the oni mountain cave and it’s loaded with dunsparce. I found 2 shiny with one sandwich. Unfortunately neither were the 3 segment
Re: Dratini. That's is what I call a successful fail. I've gotten a few of my shinies this way: Dreadnaw during a Vaporeon hunt, and Murkrow during a Flechling hunt.

Caught a full odds marked (granted it was sleepy 😭), shiny, antique Sinistea. I’ve never been so proud in my life. To make it better I caught 11 shinies that day, all full odd random encounters. I hardly ever use Herbas even though I should and unless it’s a new mass outbreak for a shiny I haven’t gotten, I still hardly use Herbas or regular Sandos. Every now and then I’ll use a regular Encounter Power still no Sparkling or Title though. I guess I just love a challenge
