- This is a Motocross Highlights video of The Day The Fastest 250 Riders In The World Squared Off. This is highlights of the 2016 MXGP of the Americas in Charlotte, North Carolina. This day was an epic clash between the multi time MX2 World Champ Jeffrey Herlings and the 2016 250 AMA Motocross champ Cooper Webb. Also, the super fast Austin Forkner. This was a huge showdown as we rarely get the stars to align to see who is the best truly the best rider in the whole world. Watch Cooper Webb, Jeffrey Herlings, and Austin Forkner battle both motos at this epic showdown race in the MX2 or 250cc motocross class. Who would have won in a 250 outdoor championship? @@wd840mxhighlights Webb didn’t end up ‘racing’ at Glen Helen. He got hurt in practice. Tomac put on the clinic that weekend on the 450. It’s funny, MXGPTV puts out a whole bunch of full retro races, but they never ever ever put out 2016 Charlotte and Glen Helen races. Lol. When every active rider is healthy, and racing their best, Herlings is the fastest. I wish the AMA and FIM had like 6 crossover races a year that count towards points. 3 in the West, and 3 abroad. Whoever is hosting, their rules and racing format apply.

Peoples throughts - if herlings was to race in America doing sx and mx, how’d he do?
I live about 20 minutes from the speedway. I stopped by the track on my way home from work every day that week to watch the track being built. The track wasn't all
that great but the racing was outstanding. The camera didn't really show how violent AC's crash was. Imagine being body slammed to an abrupt stop while you're going 40 mph.
As many times AC wrecks he probably getting used to slamming!! Lol
This was Herlings second race back after breaking his collarbone and missing three gps, Webb was fresh off his 250 outdoor title run

I will always hate the fact that this was my home race and I failed to see it. I live like an hour or two away from the raceway and it always bug me to no end. At least this year we have another race at here.

Should have gave AF some love in your thumb now saying the top 250 Riders is heading up falling over maybe he would have went but it also would have not hurt web which could have benefited him over Jeffrey because AF AC see where 1&2 in the qualifying race
Yamaha finally built a bike as good or better than the PC bike. That stock YZ 250 is nothing special on the Dyno but it reacts to mods like a boss. I've always wondered what these star bikes make on thr Dyno, as well as the PC bike.

They were young. Webb can't handle rough outdoor tracks 🤣 literally . He likes the sx where he can stay inside the entire race like a robot.

Its a shame an MX2 rider beat all the riders of the US MX champs, in 2016 the MXGP riders was a bit faster than Herlings.
Always the same dilemma, Americans great at what they do most, supercross. Only RC4 could ride with the mxgp riders at motocross though, the rest are nowhere

@D Da dee dee dee Lol he didn't even participate in the 2022 outdoors season, and focused solely on Supecross. He has zero 450 motocross titles and 2 Supercross titles. He's a top tier rider so he's gonna do well no matter what, but he is most certainly not an outdoors guy

@Douwe Egbert You ignore every time with the exception of one occasion that they were on the same track was towards the end of the AMA motocross championship where Tomac had a title to maintain. The one occasion where he didn't have a title to worry about, he smoked Herlings by over 30 seconds and laid down the fastest lap time of the entire race. And Herlings acknowledges this in multiple interviews, yet his fans can't

Not knocking Cooper as a rider, but I always wondered with how much success he had outdoors while on the 250 was due to the fact he was on a Star bike lol. I mean you couldn’t even put the KTM 250’s in the same league as the Star bikes, especially in America. Just a thought so don’t freak out and I’m not making excuses for Herlings. I’m just saying Star 250 vs KTM 250. Which one is the better bike? 😂
At that time ktm was so dominant both in the 450 and 250 class that any claims to say that the star bike was above don't have any foundation. Those ktm's were rockets, especially under the mxgp guidelines.

WEBB IS GOOD AT BLOCKING. HAD IT BEEN A REGULAR RACE, HERLINGS WOULD HAVE DESTROYED WEBB.
