You know how you just need a tbsp or so of tomato paste but have to open a whole can-even that small one-then find a need for the rest or lose it in the fridge and find it all moldy? Yeah-well I got tired of buying the tubes-pricey, messy and they get lost too-so I freeze dried several cans, powdered it and put it in a mason jar. Omgoodness!!! Game changer! I’ve done this now with tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, and diced tomatoes. Never have to open a can and not use all of it again! Whatever I’m making with a tomato product is richer in flavor as well. One of the best ideas for using my freeze dryer for everyday use!
My main rule is that I can only buy fresh dairy products and basic vegetables. I only buy what I need for a week, so I can work through the pantry and freezer stuff easier.
New subscriber, we are doing the Pantry challenge Jan-March we have so much to work through. I decided this year to allow 20 bucks per week for fresh items. I see so many people participating this year. It's going to be fun!!
I tried to can corn a few times but it's always bad when I opened it up. I don't know what I did wrong. Now I leave it on the cob and freeze. We love it
When you label your shelf, does a magnet stick to it? You could get some magnets and stick to cardstock or some type of erasable or laminated paper and then you could move it around if needed
As I am well prepared (with many of our proteins from your farm) and our gardens - we are going to try the #threeriverschallenge! Wish us luck! Cheers to a wonderful 2025!
@sarahschlosser1203 They do sag a bit between support bars with all quarts. They aren't loaded over their weight rating though and the supports are close. I was more concerned with our wire shelving as they were starting to sag quite a bit.
We are in northern Wisconsin. I got my shelving from Ace Hardware. They are AR Garage Shelving, also called rivet shelving. I was going to link some on Amazon but most have additional shipping so best if you can find them locally.
Your pantry looks great. I love the idea of using the cowboy candy brine for pork chops! Thank you for sharing ❤.

Well done, Lady! Looking great!
I love your new pantry. I haven't made blueberry syrup, just peach, apple and pear. I will have to try it. Good luck on the challenge.
Pickled peppers are good on a beef roast in the crockpot
Beautiful pantry! Congratulations!
Just found your channel. For the jams I thought of homemade “pop•tarts” or thumbprint cookies

Ground beef and pickles
Where did you purchase those shelves? Love the
size of them. New viewer what state do you live in?
I use pickled peppers on sandwiches. They are particularly good on fried egg sandwiches.
@@wvwow-sn1tu That's a great idea. We will have to try it!
Maybe those pickles you canned with lime
Yes!
Do you find that your shelves have sagged at all?
