This is such a helpful video. I wish I could find a pool builder with as much experience and attention to detail as you, where I live. Surprisingly, I’ve had three consultations from supposedly high end builders, and they don’t seem to give much thought to site analysis. I think there’s so much demand here (Oahu), that the builders just want to build fast and move on to their next job.
I really enjoy your videos and I can't wait for part two. We've been kicking around the idea of having a big pool and lazy river installed, but I do have a couple questions if you don't mind. Is there any limit, outside of land, to how long you can make a lazy river? I have 80 acres of flat, and mostly clear land, but there is a 10 acre pond on it, here in Louisiana. I mean can you do a 1,500 foot long lazy river with a lot of twists an turns so it isn't just plain straight runs with a couple of minor turns in it, and what kind of power would be needed, as far as pumps, if that's doable? Also, have you ever built any tunnels over lazy rivers? I build Monolithic domes, and I've sprayed 1,000's of yards of shotcrete, so I was thinking........yes I know that's dangerous and expensive, haha, a couple of nice cool dome tunnels to go over sections of the lazy river would be fun to do, but I think we'd have to tie in the rebar of the river and tunnel together to keep the structural integrity of the tunnel so it doesn't want to spread open over time. Every time we go to Hawaii we all have to ride those sugar cane flumes and they have tunnels that are like a 1,000 feet long and pretty cool, so I was thinking of something along those lines. Thanks - It's hard to tell without a Soil's report - It would be best to talk to a quality pool builder in your area.
Would love to install a pool but the maintenance costs have me a bit nervous.
