    Lots will play a lot B4 Xmas. Dylan is the only lock to start. Coach Mick will need time to decipher who he can trust. Concur with Yoxsy on this point: those who defend and protect the basketball will play more.

      I think Bilodeau and Johnson are close to locks although Stefanovic might be the de facto starter to begin the season.

    Dylan is not a lock to start. Every position is up for grabs. Practices will be brutal.

    Let's see what Cronin makes of his new roster after summer workouts. We all know that in order to play for Mick, you better play defense. Hopefully these incoming shooters can be consistent scorers. Proven players such as Johnson, Stefanovich, Kyle, and Andrews might have the edge in starting, with the other guard spot open for a Mack/Clark duel. If Bilodeau is a "Bona-fide" fouler (testing Cronin's patience), then he'd be better off the bench. I used to watch UCLA basketball practices in 1971-75, and observing Coach Wooden stressing "arms up" on defense (which made Walton so special), I would tell Aday, "!Brazos arriba!" It would make him seem 10 feet tall...! Good luck Bruins!

    I don’t see how you get any harmony on this team next season….with at least a dozen good players, many of whom came to UCLA expecting to play, there are going to be many unhappy players sitting on the bench. It’s a weird dynamic, but there’s just too much talent … could backfire.

    • @luzzbuzz
      @luzzbuzz 6 месяцев назад

      I think the harmony will come with winning but yeah you could be right. A lot of talented kids will not play meaningful minutes and obviously won’t be happy. Hopefully guys like Dailey, D Will, B Will, Freeny will be patient and stick around to be developed.

    This is all speculation. We haven’t seen any of the new players play. Last year, we were hyped-up thinking we had two NBA one & dones. What did we really have? Exactly. So, next season’s starting lineup will begin to take shape over the summer when the players are playing pickup games together. Andrews would be the bettor’s pick to start but remember , he’s not a natural point guard. I’ll add: I’m not crazy about your projected starting five. Mack wasn’t very good after that Utah stunt when he maliciously forearmed a guy. Kobe Johnson is a trOJan and can transfer back as far as I’m concerned. I’ll try to overlook that “blemish” on his resume but I don’t apologize for hating SC.

      There’s a huge difference between projecting foreign high schoolers and projecting transfers who have already proven they produce at the D1 college level

      @Andrew-eq2wu 6 месяцев назад

      I agree with some of your misgivings, but no way you can equate the international hs kids from last year to the upper class transfers coming in next year… not in the same ballpark

    • @luzzbuzz
      @luzzbuzz 6 месяцев назад

      No one that knows basketball thought we had two one and dones coming in last year. Andrews isn’t a natural point guard but neither is Clark. I haven’t really seen Perry play so maybe he is. Mack struggled late in the year against better competition but also didn’t look close to 100 percent and has the biggest upside of the shooting guards. Kobe Johnson had a really disappointing season last year but still can have a huge season with an improved jumper. Mack/Andrews/Johnson can be the best defensive perimeter in the country, shooting is the big question mark.

    • @Andrew-eq2wu
      @Andrew-eq2wu 6 месяцев назад

      even if Mack is a better defender, I think Clark should get the starting spot over Mack if he can at least defend decently. Clark can shoot the ball on the perimeter, which makes our starting unit much more dynamic and keeps defenses off balance because we can score in multiple ways. A back court with Mack and DA would be more predictable and easier to game plan against

    • @luzzbuzz
      @luzzbuzz 6 месяцев назад

      I like Freeny and I hope that he’ll get time but it’s highly unlikely. He’s got more upside than Harris and Clark but unless they’re really disappointing he won’t get minutes.

      I was shocked Mack stayed. Easily three or four deep at the three. Clark is a CG, Harris, and Perry is a solid shooter, allowing you to have two PG's on the court. Each of them is way better than Mack's 28.3% from three.

    • @luzzbuzz
      @luzzbuzz 6 месяцев назад

      If Mack improves his three point shooting and figures out how to finish at the rim he could be a beast! Big ifs but he has the competitiveness you love and I’m sure he’s fired up to battle for playing time. He’s a better defender than Harris and Clark so that gives him the edge if he can get that three point percentage above 30.
