Be glad you're Canadian, Graham. Over here in Germany, they start selling Christmas stuff in September (no kidding). Moreover, as soon as Christmas is done with, the stores start decorating with Easter stuff. I've long lost any interest in the holiday at all because after three full months, whatever anticipation there might have been is dead.
+0lfan Pretty much the same here in Sweden. With Halloween being such a comparatively minor holiday, it doesn't take up a whole lot of space anywhere. In some stores, Halloween and Christmas decorations are up at the same time, just in different windows. It all starts in September. It's ridiculous. You people in NA should count yourselves lucky - at least you have Halloween acting as a proper buffer. Here in Europe, it doesn't even do that much.
Graham I understand your pain. I wish things would not get so Christmasy so damn early, here in NZ it is even worse because of all the snow themed Christmas songs when it is summer. Seriously.
matongu I feel sorry for you mate. I'd suggest ordering some make your own Eggnog mix. It's only about 75-80% as good, but that's still pretty great in my opinion.
I agree. Christmas will be celebrated on Christmas and perhaps the day before. Other than that. Bugger off with your carols and "dreams of a white christmas" I'm going to the beach. Summer time down under :D
Can we have an LRR musical? Also, I think it would be amazing if everyone was programmed to speak in rhyme when music starts playing in the background.
Here its even worse: Sinterklaas is celebrated at 5 December yet stores sell decorations early october; at 6 December everything is gone and replaced by christmas decorations.
You know I have to agree with Graham on this one. Christmas starts earlier and earlier every year to appease the almighty dollar (Canadian, US, Australian, and whatever other countries use the dollar).
It could be worse. A few years ago I worked retail at a store that started selling Christmas stuff in late August. At least most places seem to have waited until after Halloween this year.
It isn't Christmas for me until the traditional Christmas movie is shown on TV... They played Die Hard the day after Halloween this year... so I guess Thanksgiving is part of Christmas now.
This episode was full of great stuff, I really wasn't sure how you could top it for the stinger, but holy god, I laughed like crazy at that last line XD
Graham should be thankful that he does not work in retail. 24-Hour Christmas everything for 40 hours a week starting around October 31st? That would make a Scrooge out of anyone.
Don't you see? Ian is actually the Laugh-o-tron come to join them after forming a body independent from his original circuit-bound self! After making a flesh-bot, he learned business and how humans worked. It's all a ruse! He will take his revenge one day from them abandoning him to the development company/government "mom"!
Ah, I remember the days Christmas stuff only started showing up in December. Actually, no I don't, I barely remember when they waited until mid November to bring out the Christmas stuff.
I work at a grocery store and the day after (American) Thanksgiving they started playing Christmas music. That's almost an entire month of mostly country and smooth jazz remixes of Christmas carols. /sigh
They didn't say what year. Maybe Paul's AI predicted they would need this video several years ago and the video was shot in 2010. The Moonbase is now inhabited by a sentient machine that sometimes goes by the name of Adam.
Zanaide I have no idea about the Commodore Hustle timeline. Everything could be in the future for all I know. I half suspect (well... more want to suspect) that it is just LRR filming their actual creative process. It's actually just an elaborate Loading Time.
I can understand most of this, but December 8th is not an unreasonable time to arrange secret santa. Last year that's when mine was arranged at work, which just didn't give a lot of time to and buy anything, especially when we finished for Christmas on December 19th.
Did anyone notice that what Paul at 5:03 almost said the exact flavor text of a magic card; "those who forget the horrors of the past are doomed to remeet them" or something
+BLU Pyro Hurry now to buy your own anti-Christmas isolation unit, and get a dozen cookies free! (just pay shipping and handling. Yummy Co. is not responsible for accidental explosions by 'enhanced' frosting. purchase at own risk. offer void wherever permitted)
I have to say The Muppet's Christmas Carol is my yearly tradition - I am watching it a bit late this year (Today/tomorrow - new years eve.) but I am also watching this on the same day so *shrugs*
This is why I hate this month. I don't even want to hear a carol until the date is in the 20s. Nope I start hearing them mid October in some places. Then again if we gave Halloween as much attention I might be happy.
ok... I think I know the answer to my own question... but... my first reaction on seeing comments on this video was... This was just posted 15min ago how are there comments from several hours to a day old on it already? suspected answer... kickstarter people getting access early.
i feel your pain -and you know who is to blame MARKETING -people in marketing are the ones who keep pushing christmas further up the year its taking over halloweens spot -im getting annoyed with it now -the only thing i don't find annoying about it is the charity drives because it helps bring in the donations for the various ones we run at work
mowdownjoe Ah, right. Given that scene starts at 1:24 and you specified 1:45 particularly I was looking for something in someone's off-hand on the table when they all put their hands up
I am part of the problem... I like to mix Christmas with my Thanksgiving, like I like to mix my green beans with my mashed potatoes ... and corn... and stuffing... and turkey... I guess what I'm saying is that I really like mashed potatoes. And also mixing and also Christmas... and ghosts and Alex and Beej and Graham and Paul and James and Kathleen! and Cam. And singing. OK, I'll stop.
So, apart from Small Percussionist of Indeterminate Gender, We Several Monarchs and O Mid Sized Suburb of Bethlehem, what are some of your favourite Christmasish Songs? Listen to the Messenger Messengers Quiet Evening Off in a Feedbox The Ilex and the Hedera We Desire you a Jolly Yuletide
w ya why do stores start putting up Christmas stuff before thanksgiving? its like November first, one day after Halloween and already Christmas things/
I love Beej's expression when the "no magic" rule comes up.

Oh God, it just happens everywhere, then
Same here in the Philippines
I just noticed... Paul paid $50 for that Christmasish Songs CD. Yummies Records, Inc. must be raking in... uh... $50. :P
Graham I understand your pain. I wish things would not get so Christmasy so damn early, here in NZ it is even worse because of all the snow themed Christmas songs when it is summer. Seriously.
However, it does mean more time for Eggnog.
The Celestia we don't really have eggnog as far as I know here.
matongu Where is that?
The Celestia New Zealand
matongu I feel sorry for you mate.
I'd suggest ordering some make your own Eggnog mix. It's only about 75-80% as good, but that's still pretty great in my opinion.
I love that LRR does skits about avoiding work while the skits are their work
I agree. Christmas will be celebrated on Christmas and perhaps the day before. Other than that. Bugger off with your carols and "dreams of a white christmas" I'm going to the beach. Summer time down under :D
rewatching these years later, now realizing how long Ian has been around LRR, lol
Can we have an LRR musical? Also, I think it would be amazing if everyone was programmed to speak in rhyme when music starts playing in the background.
Favourited this as soon as Graham started singing!
sorry, I meant as soon as SCROOGE started singing.
Thank you Graham for being the voice of reason in this ever expanding holiday season.
My spouse and I believe that this is one of the best ways to begin a Christmas Day: rewatching this video.
Wait...
The Laugh-a-tron's voice is Ian's!
It's okay Ian, we'll get you out of there!
The radio at the beginning, too!
Here its even worse: Sinterklaas is celebrated at 5 December yet stores sell decorations early october; at 6 December everything is gone and replaced by christmas decorations.
Oh I have that CD, capitalist consumer countdown is my favorite.
David G.C. I'm a fan of O Seasonal Conifer myself.
I personally prefer Above Average Ruler Wenclause
I want to see a full-length feature film version of this.
Excellent way to add Ian in on this guys. Love it.
Also, the knock off Carol names are great.
'Tisness. 'TISNESS!
Also, the rest of the video.
I know exactly how Graham feels ugh
You know I have to agree with Graham on this one. Christmas starts earlier and earlier every year to appease the almighty dollar (Canadian, US, Australian, and whatever other countries use the dollar).
It could be worse. A few years ago I worked retail at a store that started selling Christmas stuff in late August. At least most places seem to have waited until after Halloween this year.
I say after Dec 1 everything is fair game.
It isn't Christmas for me until the traditional Christmas movie is shown on TV... They played Die Hard the day after Halloween this year... so I guess Thanksgiving is part of Christmas now.
I was going to say the exact same thing.
You know...you probably could have just ended with "I agree with Graham". The guy's usually pretty spot on. lol
This episode was full of great stuff, I really wasn't sure how you could top it for the stinger, but holy god, I laughed like crazy at that last line XD
As someone watching these in order, it's weird to have a sudden jump from the retro crew to basically the modern crew
Same
I feel Graham. It was November 3rd this year and I was already hearing “All I Want For Christmas Is You” on the radio.
Graham should be thankful that he does not work in retail. 24-Hour Christmas everything for 40 hours a week starting around October 31st? That would make a Scrooge out of anyone.
"Should have planned ahead, my blanket's electric." is going to make me laugh randomly in public sometime during the next week.
So... how many more episodes of cH until they have to put Laugh-o-tron down for trying to start the robot apocalypse?
dragonbretheren 14
I have never related more to a character than I have to Graham in this episode
di... did Paul just invent Skynet?
Well he already has a time machine. However, I don't think the Laugh-o-tron is hooked up to... well, anything.
Msoulwing
Not yet...
See the episode Giving Up
Msoulwing it ends up taking over the whole building
Dude it's 4 years later now. How time passes...
I feel for Graham on this. Christmas is great, but it's encroached too far on the rest of December.
The muppet version is my favorite christmal carol! :-)
Graham and I are birds of a feather on this one.
To CH Alex and Beej: You do know you don't have to be naked under the sheets to play ghosts, right? But props for planning ahead, Alex.
So with Graham, I can stomach Christmas for approximately 4 days.
Not gonna lie, got really excited when Graham started to sing...
Graham, I feel your pain. Sone of the houses near me have had there decorations up since the 1st December.
Day after thanksgiving. Gotta loove christmas.
I feel your pain, I work retail and we were playing Xmas songs last week. Mid November.
Now hear this:
I love Commodore Hustle.
That is all.
I work at a grocery store and the day after (American) Thanksgiving they started playing Christmas music. That's almost an entire month of mostly country and smooth jazz remixes of Christmas carols. /sigh
ALL THE YES! Thank you for showing people that you can love Christmas without making it a whole-month-'round thing.
I know it is limited to kickstarter backers at the moment, but this video is coming to us from the future... as apparently it is the 8th December!
I was thinking the same thing. :D
They didn't say what year. Maybe Paul's AI predicted they would need this video several years ago and the video was shot in 2010. The Moonbase is now inhabited by a sentient machine that sometimes goes by the name of Adam.
Zanaide
I have no idea about the Commodore Hustle timeline. Everything could be in the future for all I know.
I half suspect (well... more want to suspect) that it is just LRR filming their actual creative process. It's actually just an elaborate Loading Time.
I personally start listening to christmas music from the start of december.
I can understand most of this, but December 8th is not an unreasonable time to arrange secret santa. Last year that's when mine was arranged at work, which just didn't give a lot of time to and buy anything, especially when we finished for Christmas on December 19th.
I've gotten a great amount of comic mileage in class out of graham's song.
Did anyone notice that what Paul at 5:03 almost said the exact flavor text of a magic card; "those who forget the horrors of the past are doomed to remeet them" or something
Awww, but I was really digging the song. Graham has a beautiful man-voice. And clearly the Muppet version is the definitive version.
It's December 8th my dudes.
Where can I order one of these anti-Christmas isolation units?
Try Paul and Paul Industries.
Martin Drkoš "Paul & Paul" is a subsidiary of Yummies Co.
Leviadragon I'd use it outside of Christmas too lol
I have to say The Muppet's Christmas Carol is my yearly tradition - I am watching it a bit late this year (Today/tomorrow - new years eve.)
but I am also watching this on the same day so *shrugs*
and it finishes on a Destiny Joke...I don't understand why people don't like Peter Dinklage/Ghosts.
I just noticed the record is from "Yummies" Records, a nice reminder of Kathleen's brand with all the kawai and desu :P
Oh I think it's fly when a girl walks by for the summer. (For the summer)
Merry Christmas, Graham Stark.
Superb episode. Got a bit of boom to after-effects out in the stinger.
I like the way you can still see the value village tag on the black sheet.
Gotta agree with Graham, I only celebrate the week of Christmas.
This is why I hate this month. I don't even want to hear a carol until the date is in the 20s. Nope I start hearing them mid October in some places. Then again if we gave Halloween as much attention I might be happy.
Getting serious Kings Quest 5 flashbacks when Alex & Beej say "GRAHAAAAAM"
They could do so much more with this!
As a result of the name graham I can't help but think of the owl from kings quest 5 when they talk.
Didn't see that coming, but anyway, I feel you Graham, I feel you
Summer Girls,,, damn that is an old song.
ok... I think I know the answer to my own question... but...
my first reaction on seeing comments on this video was... This was just posted 15min ago how are there comments from several hours to a day old on it already?
suspected answer... kickstarter people getting access early.
And the answer goes to....YOU!
Yep, Kickstarter folks have their own forum, and they always get the new videos on Saturday.
Clearly not enough metal in Graham's play list ;)
i feel your pain -and you know who is to blame MARKETING -people in marketing are the ones who keep pushing christmas further up the year its taking over halloweens spot -im getting annoyed with it now -the only thing i don't find annoying about it is the charity drives because it helps bring in the donations for the various ones we run at work
Omg the laff-o-tron has become sentient!
I want a Christmas Dinklage. I don't even care what it is.
Did... did we all just get clubbed at 1:45? FUCK
I'm... not seeing it. Where?
CleverCrumbish
On the whiteboard? Big club soda drawing?
...Look, they clearly can't send us actual clubs over the internet, yet.
mowdownjoe Ah, right. Given that scene starts at 1:24 and you specified 1:45 particularly I was looking for something in someone's off-hand on the table when they all put their hands up
Now that deserves a tall glass of water.
I... don't remember this one... But I love it.
Christmas is the whole month of December. Just like Halloween is the whole month of October.
Paul made something that isn't destructive.
Honestly my rule is the earliest you should start celebrating is until after Black Friday
Un Chien Andalou!
.... and Len!
Finally cam is here
How have I not noticed that replica of Elspeth’s OG sword ‘til now?! 🤯
Hm… okay, which would win in a duel: Godsend or Luxior? 🤔
Happy December 8th!
This feels really weird when it is now 8ht of christmas.
I feel for you Graham...
So awesome! I'm already done with Christmas, I'm looking forward to spring. I need the warm weather back to re tan my sexy legs. ;)
Hey you guys missed Beej in the closing credits... Great video by the way
Mans, that's awesome! Hilarious!
We set up christmas stuff for our store...in september.
that was a sick reference indeeeeed.
Maybe Graham just needs to learn the true meaning of Destiny.
We are older now, can we know the true meaning of a "christmas dinklage" now.
OK, I'll stop.
went to what used to be called rap genius to look up those 2 songs, lyrics can be weird
Slicing up eyeballs, oohhh uhhh uhhh ahhh, girl your so groovy, oohhh, uhhh, uhhh, ahhh, I wanna grow up to be, be a debaser!
It's December 8th
So, apart from Small Percussionist of Indeterminate Gender, We Several Monarchs and O Mid Sized Suburb of Bethlehem, what are some of your favourite Christmasish Songs?
Listen to the Messenger Messengers
Quiet Evening
Off in a Feedbox
The Ilex and the Hedera
We Desire you a Jolly Yuletide
My mother's mother has been trampled by a northern native mammal is my favorite.
I'm going to give this two days, then I'm going to google "Christmas Dinklage".
Don't disappoint me, internet!
Ill come back and comment when I can stop laughing :D
Graham is me, only my anti-Christmas moms is all year.
Hmmm...now to see if this goes as far South as "Meme Beej," HAHA!
Did Graham ever learn to stop hating Christmas?
w ya why do stores start putting up Christmas stuff before thanksgiving? its like November first, one day after Halloween and already Christmas things/
Somehow this year people around here started preparations for christmas at the end of november! I really don't get why.
ITS DECEMBER 8TH TODAY! :D
it is already the 8th? dammit i need to get my tree up
