This is George Jones "He Stopped Loving Her Today" but it works also with Kristofferson's "Help Me Make It Through The Night" . Thank you for this Tutorial!!!!
It's interesting that you mention this because when George Jones recorded 'He Stopped Loving Her Today' he kept singing it to the tune of 'Help Me Make It Through the Night' and it took so many takes to that he and the he and the producer got into an argument.
@@patrickwall8517 Yes! what you mention I saw it two days ago in a documentary on Country Music: George Jone's producer explained himself this anecdote, but don't you think that this is plagiarism? Kristofferson recorded Help me Make it Through the Night in 1970 and George Jones recorded "He Stopped Loving Her Today" in 1980!!! I think that Kristofferson didn't suit him because Kristofferson is a man with a good heart and don't want to suit anybody or do any harm to other fellow musicians that maybe are in trouble times, like was George Jones case. His life and career was a mess at that moment and the succes of this song gave him some relief.
When first starting to record He Stopped Loving Her Today, George kept reverting to the tune of Help Me Make It Through The Night….his producer said he couldn’t do that as it was copyrighted to Kriss Kristopherson…George said..”It’s a better tune”. Hi producer replied…”I’m sure Kriss thinks so too”.
Hey man! Just want to say thank you for this. Your video inspired me to pull out my keyboard and finally learn how to play my first song. I'm not a country fan, so I learned a pop punk song (in it's most basic form) but thanks again. I got the keyboard because I really wanted to learn but became frustrated because it seemed very complicated in comparison to when I learned to play guitar. This video helped out a lot with getting me started. Have a good day my friend.
I just started playing piano, as they wouldn't put up with my violin playing any more. I am told its a acquired taste. :) This lesson is really good and not to difficult for a beginner like me. Thank you can take care
Ty Matt,, I learned so much from your site, waiting on the piano DVD I ordered,!can I request a song tutorial for Chris Stapleton , Tennessee whiskey ?
@@CountrySongTeacher I like your style! I was trying to find how to download it, and then found out it was a DVD being mailed. Ha ha! I don't see details I guess.

You sound a country singer
What song is this? Did you write it yourself?
he stopped loving her today is the classic by george jones.
Well I already though so but really your version of notes you sing is much prettier!
