I heard that those oil cooler seals mainly the top ones do leak because they have to withstand the heat of the engine over a period of time.I"m confident that you will resolve this leak...You better off replacing all the seals including the bigger lower one so you know its all been replaced. I bought my 3.2 as a barn find and it was leaking from every seal and it had broken headstuds so I was able to look over the leaks closely with the engine out before I rebuilt it. I agree with some of the comments below about the triangle of death because it can be the oil cooler and everything above. The breather and the sensors back there should be removed and re-gasketed. I replaced all of my sensors, but at the very least new crush washers should help re-seal things. If the crank breather is off maybe true the surface with a piece of glass and fine sandpaper. The other thing I can think of is the torque values on those sensors are quite low, but the aluminum washer has to actually crush to seal so it's a mixture of the torque value plus some feel. Hope this helps and keep going. You got it.

@@blandsbarn I just saw the new video and commented. Well done. Yes, it's easy to remove the engine and transmission out of these as one unit. It's literally hanging out back on four bolts, lol. Anyway now that the oil seals are fixed, enjoy the honeymoon and drive it. I did my full rebuild and it took about a year end to end, mostly because of the machine work that took forever. But that gave me lots of time to read those books from Wayne Dempsey and actually learn how to do it.
As you’ve got that far, the leak could have come from the ‘triangle of death’ above the oil cooler and run down. Change the seals and gaskets on them all. The breather tower has a button on it and you have to make sure the jubilee clip is positioned under it. Good luck.
Great vid, I have a 2011 GTS on 76k and tbh respect the car that I rarely exceed 2k revs and just cruise about as I do not wish to stress components. I would not wish to stress an even older classic like you appeared to mate, I know they are performance cars but treat the old lady a bit nicer Look fwd to the next vid and hope u get it sorted 👍

Easier to drop the engine on that job, also pressure test the unit before refitting, I would also suggest buying block modern electrical connectors to interrupt the cables that need disconnecting if you are engine/gearbox dropping as the OME switches are getting hard to find, also you can tidy the engine bay, good content good luck with the channel

Still a better car than the Numpty who called mine shit yesterday on the A322 at Bagshot , he was in a BMW M8 undertook me at very high speed and when i caught up to him at traffic lights proceeded to give me every curse word you can think of lol , I think these classic cars have soul , the modern cars are like calculators they do all the hard work for you and take away from the driving experience. Also i had the dreaded input shaft bearings but found a good man in Farnborough who fixed my car for £800 and that included a new clutch cant beat that for value.
Well as they say you can't buy class! I agree about modern cars, i just cant connect with them and find all the driver "aid" so distracting. Glad you got the bearing sorted for a good price! Thanks for watching

As a healthcare professional I don’t say this to be insulting and I don’t know your medical history but you seem to be out of breath just while talking to the camera? I recommend to talk to your GP to rule out serious underlying heath issues. All the best.
As a former mechanic I've always been baffled at how motor-heads will lavish such care on their vehicles and agonize about the various fuels and liquids they feed them, all the while ignoring what they put into their own bodies. Engines are easily rebuilt, the human body not so much....
No offence taken, I am not the fittest fella on the planet that's for sure! But im always recording as i go so often i've just been under the car, back up to get a tool, back under the car etc, its like working out in a gym.
@@blandsbarn My comment was not about fitness or appearance , you look very normal to me, but being out of breath like that can be caused by underlying issues (a lot of them treatable) it might be nothing and just you doing something excerting prior to shooting but it was enough for me feeling that you might want to check it out. leak looks like its coming from what they call the triangle of death. replace all gaskets and washers there

Yes, the oil pressure switch. I would have replaced that first. It's very common for it to leak. And it can dump quite a bit of oil.
