  • ACAPULCO 1970s
Archive footage of Acapulco shot by an Italian filmmaker while traveling to Mexico in the 1970.
This archive footage of Acapulco contains historical stock footage of cityscape from a boat, Acapulco's skyline, Pacific Coast of Mexico, Acapulco Bay and more
These are classic Super 8 home movie footage, probably shot during a family trip
In this Acapulco archive footage you can see a city and major seaport in the state of Guerrero on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, 380 kilometres (240 mi) south of Mexico City. Acapulco is located on a deep, semicircular bay and has been a port since the early colonial period of Mexico's history. It is a port of call for shipping and cruise lines running between Panama and San Francisco, California, United States. The city of Acapulco is the largest in the state, far larger than the state capital Chilpancingo. Acapulco is also Mexico's largest beach and balneario resort city. Acapulco de Juárez is the municipal seat of the municipality of Acapulco.

WHY 8MM & SUPER8 HOME MOVIE ARCHIVAL FOOTAGE IS IMPORTANT?
Old Family films shot on 8mm/super8 (sometimes even on 16mm or 35mm) are an invaluable collection of unseen personal testimonies from our history.
Unfortunately, the condition of these film reels is often dramatic, as they are stored in inadequate places and handed down to individuals who don’t know how to project them.
At Archival Footage Service, we strive to build an archive of family films that is accessible to everyone through our RUclips channel.

If I could go back to any time for a while it’d be Mexico in the 1970s ❤❤ I didn’t live through it but my mom was born in 1970. I know it wasn’t the most fortunate time for many people but I’d love to be able to see authentic things of the culture that is rare today. My mom tells me many stories of her childhood. I’d especially love to listen to the bands playing at Acapulco and dance and enjoy it all.

Today, Mexican drug cartels have ruined the resort city.
