My favorite part of j vs Ben is when they have different answers so Ben just assumes his is wrong, but then it turns out that j is actually wrong. The pure joy on bens face after that I love it! I feel this exact same way with my husband cause he always knows more trivia than me and is usually right so when I think it's different I'm convinced I'm wrong. Nice feeling when it's the other way
You guys should do a quiz on the movie-only scenes. I think that would be so funny! Sometimes I forget which scenes are book-only and which are movie-only.
yes, they do I searched it up on RUclips for you. because I knew it was a quiz, I had watched recently in my current harry potter hyper fixation, here's the link I hope you enjoy. ruclips.net/video/eFByKEGbJ2M/видео.html
If curious minds want to know, Lilac is a lighter purple with pink undertones & Lavender is a deeper purple with violet undertones. My aunt was a florist for 20 years & she made sure to engrave that random fact into my brain for some reason.
@Sadhbh Corr yeah and I love that they talk out their thinking to there answers even if they get it wrong. Mainly because I do the same when I do quizes but still it is fun hearing there logic to their answers
This may seem random, but THANK YOU for using the proper form of "its" in your post! It drives me crazy when people use the contraction in place of the possessive pronoun. Way to go! 🎉
YES! Another Redemption quiz! This is my favorite subcategory of J vs Ben quizzes. I agree with J's theory about the vulture hat for Snape (Lupin setting up the joke and Dumbledore rigging the popper).
I happened to pause this right when they were told that ron and tonks was the right answer to one of the questions, and their expressions are priceless 😂 love it!
This video was a lot of fun, but I'm really disappointed they didn't have their previous answers available the way they did for the other failed questions videos. That's part of the fun - to see if they fall into the same answer traps as last time.
OMG yes! What does Percy offer Harry at the start of term feast: A Red Lightsaber. J and Ben, please do it. Make it happen, I would be very down for that.
For future reference to everyone, Benjy Fenwick never appeared in the main story in person. Moody mentioned him when he showed Harry the photo of the first Order of the Phoenix. Benjy was a member who got cornered by Death Eaters and, as Moody put it, the Order "only found bits of him".
THAT "8th story" sounds honestly SOOO much better than "The Cursed Child"!! Would TOTALLY go watch THAT story!! Oh, my gosh!! Maybe you guys could write a Wizard Comedy or something!! 🤣🤣🤣
The thing about them feeding grass snakes to the skrewts is weird, because Harry would be able to talk to the snakes....I can sort of imagine Harry being like "Do you want to be fed to a skrewt?" and the snake being like "no", and Harry just letting it slither off to the Forbidden Forest.
@@w0rmfarts because hes been cheating? Kinda defeats the point of the competition if you ask me. I used to always route for Ben but with his cheating problem it makes it really hard to do so now.
Benjy Fenwick was the kid in the 70's who got hit by the Whomping Willow and went blind in one eye because some of the younger students were playing a game where they were trying to get as close to the trunk as possible without getting hit and he got hit
A quiz where you ask questions like "According to SCB, what magical creature is Argus Filch?"? That sounds pretty dang fun. I'd definitely watch that. Though hopefully at least some of the questions are harder than that one :P Maybe go SUPER far back and ask "In SCB's revised rules of Quidditch, what extra role were Seekers given?" That one might be a bit trickier :D
Actually guys, there is a big difference between lilac & lavender! Lilac is always a pale purple that is definitely leaning toward pink, meaning it has more red to its tone than blue. Lavender can be pale to medium in intensity & is always a blue-purple or equally balanced purple that can't be mistaken for pink in any way. To help remember you can think of the old poem that says "lavender's blue, dilly dilly..." referring to the flower color.
Fact Check! Benjy Fenwick was a member of the Order of the Phoenix. Apparently, they "only ever found bits of him" Probably thinking of Marcus Belby, the only Slug Club train meeting person who doesn't show up later (the others being McLaggen, Zabini and of course Ginny Neville and Harry) And a Grass Snake is one of the three kinds of snake that can be found in the UK. Along with that escaped Boa from the zoo apparently
4:13 Fun fact: according to psychologists and others who would know, when we remember things we don't really remember them, we remember the last time we remembered them. So like, Ben won't be remembering the book so much as remembering when they took the quiz and failed and was told the answer. Unless he read the book since the previous quiz.
Wait, have there been edited in this, or was this how it got recorded? 9:01 - Question 4: "What colour pyjamas was Horace Slughorn wearing, when Harry and Dumbledore paid him a visit?" -and the answer is Lockhart's favorite colour, Lilac? Have I missed something? In the movie, the actor playing Slughorn is wearing a blue-white striped pyjamas
@@1wildhorsefeather I had to go read the book....! But yep, sure. It does indeed say, well, Danish name; purple/lilac... I still find it odd, with the pyjamas in the movie then
I have always wondered about all the cool stuff you guys have displayed behind you when you do these quizzes, where did you get the captain america shield, as to me that's the comic book shield and not the movie and I'd love to hunt it myself
I was looking forward to the questions from the World Cup quiz, because it remains to this day the funniest and most miserable episode you guys have ever done.
Kat, you are right, Jimmies are a New England thing! But the name only applies to the chocolate sprinkles, the multi colored ones are called Sprinkles.
I’m literally listening to the series again right now. Ant wait to see how I go in the quiz alongside you guys. Bring it on. We call sprinkles 100’s & 1000’s in Australia too. I got 1 more question right than Ben. Well done guys, funny upload as always.
I don't really agree with the "number of floors that the Burrow has" question... It should at least be defined what constitutes a "floor". The only reason I thought about this at all is because I've been doing another readthrough recently and noticed a point in CoS that says Ron's room is on the fifth floor. Since I consider the attic to be a floor (although I know that's debatable), I would have said 6 since he lives right underneath the ghoul, but checking it out just now, I realized I had forgotten this is a European layout which starts at the ground floor followed by the first and then second and so on meaning the number of floors should really be at least 6 and 7 if you count the attic. Regardless, great content as always - please keep it up!
In Hogwart Legacy one of the characters is giving player literal quiz with multiple choices. I wish you could take this one :D (Edit, I checked - it was Sophronia Franklin in the library and there was 25 question, 5 very easy but it was getting harder and harder)
i am pre sure the burrow question comes from that quiz actually if my memory serves me correctly, probably how i remember that the answer was actually and not 5 since i played through that part of the game and was having a difficult time with the quiz myself at some points.
13:35 The names are in the order that Mrs. Weasley met them in universe. Starting with her husband, then her offspring from oldest to youngest, then Harry, then Hermione.
I feel a really torturous idea to do would be make a 15 question quiz there 7 of the questions J got wrong, and 7 of the questions Ben got wrong, but the other person got right, and 1 question where they both got it wrong (this is mostly just to keep it fair and keep w/ the pattern of 15 question quizzes), but you never say who got which ones wrong, that way they'll always be second guessing themselves.
Oooooooh! I watch a lot of British TV shows (Taskmaster, Would I Lie to You, etc), and they would frequently mention hundreds and thousands. I always thought they were talking about a chocolate bar.
Ben is right in the book Neville envisions Snape wearing a big hat with a stuffed vulture because it's what his grandmother usually wears. Of course soon the whole school knows about it and let's just say Snape is not amused about it because everyone laughs about it (and for a kid that experienced mobbing in the past that must feel really bad for Snape remembering him of his school time in Hogwarts)
Vulture hat and lilac are the ones I could remember and it was solely because of the discussion around those answers when you both previously got them wrong. And I thought it was mouse into a tea cup but maybe that was the scene in the movie.
31:24 actually Gladys Gudgeon's husband could be Davies Gudgeon! He's mentioned in Prisoner of Azkaban as beeing th kid that was severely injured by the whomping willow.
Benjy Fenwick was a member of the original Order, Moody said he was essentially blasted apart. "Benjy Fenwick, he copped it too, we only ever found bits of him . . ." The boy that bit Hermione's father was ROBBIE Fenwick :)
Along the lines of "How do the Wesley's have 5 floors when they're poor" I've wondered why house elves only go to rich families when they're not paid! Maybe a pride thing? They only want to serve rich families.
Isn't it because they stay with the family over generations and it was the oldest/rich families who "took them in" back when it all started? Oo Might be wrong about that though.. Not sure :)
@@EvilSinx I vaguely recall it being more the other way around as they were based on brownies so they were tied to a house, the rich families over time were the only ones able to afford those buildings so house elves tended to belong to them by default. However their loyalty was always house then family living in it so Dobby is not so much Malfoy's House elf as Malfoy Manor's house elf. Of course they are living beings with their own natures so Dobby relishes being freed, Winky breaks down and becomes inconsolable when her family dies and Kreacher is unconcerned by the Black family essentially being dead and continues to tend the house in accordance with his families wishes.
The problem with the vulture hat thing is that Boggart Snape wears one as Neville’s Gran. So I always think it’s just in that instance. But no, that’s also why it upsets him at Christmas. 😂
I actually got a few questions right, including (but not limited to) the number of levels to the Weasley home and about the 1st Year Exam of turning mice to snuffboxes. Of course, I only remembered the exam one due to the Harry Potter Trading Card Game from 2001. I still have a ton of those cards.
I live in New England and I grew up calling chocolate sprinkles Jimmies. I never got the rainbow ones because they didn't taste like anything special. I still do love the chocolate ones on maple walnut ice-cream.
The "who bet Ludo..." question, as much as I adore you, Ben, had you looking like a turkey starting up at the rain 😅. No disrespect intended, but I found it funny AF.
These quizzes are my favorite on this channel. I would love if you guys added clips from the first time you tried the questions, to remind us what you guessed last time, or clips of your reactions to hearing you got it wrong the first and second times 😂

@Skye Johnson replying so I can find this link later. Don't mind me lol
I know it’s so much extra work but I’d love to see their previous answers on screen to compare to their current answers

They did that last time I believe
Ya! It would be great to see the clip of their original attempt followed by their current
Yes, that was so funny last time!
Yeah it is a lot of extra work for Riley, but it would be funny to see what they said last time.
If curious minds want to know, Lilac is a lighter purple with pink undertones & Lavender is a deeper purple with violet undertones. My aunt was a florist for 20 years & she made sure to engrave that random fact into my brain for some reason.
It's both purple -> they're basically the same
@@Jan_Koopman They are both shades of purple, but lilac leans closer to the red side of the spectrum while lavender leans more toward the blue.
