Portitsa, the fairytale gorge and its watchful guard

Get to know the gorge of Portitsa in the west of the prefecture of Grevena. With a length of about 500 meters, steep cliffs surrounding it and the river Venetiko flowing through it, it impresses for its natural beauty.
At the entrance of the gorge there is a watchful guard, the stone bridge of Portitsa. It is one of the most famous bridges in the area, dating back to 1743. The bridge is two-arched, with a length of more than 30 meters and a height of about 8 meters.
