I can say that the ESV is mostly the same as the RSV (I can’t remember the percentage but it’s around 80 I think). I’m aware of some Catholics who don’t like the way certain passages are translated but it doesn’t bother me too much as I can read around those. Great review! I own this translation but I have just a standard paperback version, not the Bible in a year version.
The ESV is a Revision of the RSV that is why they are so similar the Protestant edition was originally 90% the same, the Catholic edition is more similar to the Catholic edition of the RSV just more modern vocabulary.
Im happy that i bought multiple version to compare and ive seen that the DR is the most comprehensive and better translated into english even if its a bit difficult to rread
Awesome to see you reviewing a Bible!!! I am thinking of getting this one. I have the regular Augustine Institute ESV Catholic Edition. The ESV Protestant Edition is not Gender Inclusive. I have not checked the Catholic Edition yet.
It doesn't necessarily have any relation at all to Ascension Press/Mike Schmitz's podcast. Protestant converting to Catholicism here, FWIW. There are a bunch of one year bibles- I'm assuming Tyndale Press started it because they publish the majority of them; if anything, I would assume that Ascension took that idea and presented a Catholic version of it to highlight their Great Adventure Bible and to encourage more Catholics to read scripture. They have the days numbered in addition to the dates so that people who pick this up mid year can begin at the beginning and read the bible in 365 days; you wouldn't really want to just start with the reading for whatever date you happened to start reading.
@@ConvincedCatholicism given you are English language, the US East Coast. The US is the most populated English speaking country, and the most populated time zone in the US is the East Coast. As a bonus, that's also where most Canadians live, with their largest city Toronto there. And the traffic that builds there can be good for you tube recommendations when the West Coast gets online so your video is up at least before everyone's lunch time in the US.
Thanks for the Bible review mate! 👍

Thanks for the insight. I am not surprised of the similarities between RSV and ESV

I would love to hear your thoughts on it. Hope we get a video soon
Seems like an interesting concept for a bible. I have the "ESV with Apocrypha" by Anglican Litury Press, and really enjoy it.
@@Stherko20 that is also very popular
I've seen several of your videos like this and you REALLY need to prepare.
@@mrswilbert thanks for the feedback

In the 1990’s Tyndale put out a Catholic one year Bible I just saw one recently but I don’t remember if it was in the Living Translation or the NLT.
@@terrysbookandbiblereviews They have several translations now- I’ve seen NLT, NIV, ESV. Pretty sure there’s a KJV.
Ok thanks for the clarification and insight. It is truly appreciated. God bless you on your journey to Catholicism
You know, i heard videos get the most views when they are put out during lunch time since people taking a break at work go on youtube.
Yes! That is what I have heard too. I have so many viewers in different timezones I am not sure what the best time is
