Good decisions in my opinion. Good trunk and root structure already, cutting back hard this way will make a nice branch structure. It's always a hard choice to cut back a new tree, but a bad structure won't correct itself without it, so the sooner the better! Personally, I would reduce the upper part, it's too long and straight without taper, but that's just nitpicking hahaha.
Absolutely agree! I used to ignore some of those structure issues hoping they would work themselves out. Of course, they never did. So now I just grab the bull by the horns right from the start. ...usually 🙂
They look fine as a species in most aspects imho. My personal taste is though that the colour of the leaves could be more green, then again I don't fancy yellowish or variegated varieties of any kind. 😄
That makes me wonder if maybe this is some kind of variegated variety. I hadn't really considered that until now. I'll probably experiment putting one if partial sun and the other in full sun and see how they do
Hey there, this one I just left outside, no shelter or anything. This year I'll probably keep it bunched up with the other trees against the house to protect from wind.
Olive bonsai nice ,thank you for sharing good luck Mr
It is incredible how much that tree grew! That's so satisfying.
Thanks! I'm still figuring this one out but so far so good

Hi, thank you for sharing. How do you overwinter this tree? Do you use unheated shed or garage, or does it stay outdoors for the winter?

Hey, Mike kind of looks like Sunshine Ligustrom
Interesting! I did some google and they do look similar. I have to do more research and see what the bark looks like on those
