I always pack my liquids into my personal item. That makes it easier for me, I only have to open my bag instead of going through my carry-on suitcase too. And how interesting that you didn't wear socks - even in the summer, I need them :) either way, some of the items you didn't use are still very useful. Better to have them, than not!
