As we saw in 2015/2016, if a Democratic President is gonna keep just 1 chamber of Congress, it's better for Biden that the Democrats maintain the Senate instead of the House since he'll still be able to appoint a potential 2nd Justice to the Supreme Court and any other regional courts across the country.

bruh. McConnell will out of spite use a filibuster to block all SCOTUS appointments by Democrat Presidents. My man has no shame, he already backflipped on a sacred principle of "no SCOTUS picks in a Presidential election year". Maybe Federal judges get through in the Senate, but even that should be blocked by McConnell lmao. Cause why not? Why help the democrats EVER? What's in it for the Republicans? The only brainlessness is how Democrats for some reason don't use the filibuster to frustrate the Republicans whenever they can and as often as they can.

I do like Katie Porter. Smart as a whip, does her homework, no fear. Not sure if she's speaker material. But then I'd probably be considered somewhere close to the middle of the left. Universal Healthcare, Equal rights, don't care who you marry, think climate change is possibly an extinction event in the making. But I also believe in a strong defense, guns (I'm fine with reasonable restrictions), and capitalism. But I believe capitalism has to be a hybrid. It drives production and innovation like no other, but it also produces income inequality, class stratification if not merged with the proper taxation, and "funded" government programs and safety nets. Governments should always strive to do the best they can for the largest possible percentage of it's people.

I do not agree with her stances on all issues nor the corporate acquiescence, however I understand the difficult political landscape over the last 20 years and how difficult it was to get anything left of center supported and passed. I’m not surprised on any level she is not putting her support behind a progressive. I hope progressives can pull up and someone runs against Jeffries, even if only for symbolic purposes. We (the progressive public) also need to do more to support progressive candidates at the local level to further normalize the idea of progressives in leadership positions.

Why can't the Dem's have a subscription model and a donation model. Voting members of the Dem party pay a small monthly fee which means they get perks (this could be invitations to rallies, discounts on Dem party merchandise, access to other party stuff as well as visits to Congress) plus you subscribe to support the policies of the party and the funds are used for the benefit of the party campaigns. The Dems do not have to spend big on ads, they can run ads on Social media and a smaller amount allocated to old expensive media.
Obviously large corporate donors can donate but they should not make up more than 45% of the money raised each yr and there must be full disclosure in the public domain on who donated money and cash equivalents over $1k for US natural persons and over $10k US for body corporates and foundations. NO direct donations from foreign entities obviously.
In this way we clean up our democracy and the party's and congress is not in the hands of corporations and the rich.

Ms. Pelosi was the best fundraiser Republicans ever latched onto. That said, I must give her credit for doing one thing that most Male politicians her age refuse to do: know when to quit seeking political power. Hopefully, this will inspire past-it Politicians over the age of 70 to do likewise. Baby Boomers, it's time to retire from Politics and let a younger generation take over, IMHO.

One thing we progressives must do is support our members. Not constantly beat them down. We are a minority within the Democratic party, which is largely corporate. We have an unreasonably hard landscape to navigate as the corporate media and donors back corporate politicians over our progressives.
How could a progressive inherit leadership without having the votes? We couldn't.
