Dravid played 164 matches , Mahela played only 149 , if he played 164 as well , He must be leading in the list with amazing number of catches , he's an expert ❤️
I think you mean _tactical_ positioning not _tactful_ positioning? Both are obviously right at the top level in terms of slips catching skill but I'm still voting for Mark Waugh, whose catches per match stats are about 1.5 while Jayawardene is more like 1.3. Stats cannot tell you the whole story of course and for players who have only a few matches they can be completely inaccurate but over the longer run they can reveal a very great deal. Waugh also had a unique way of fielding in slips which is alluded to in a masterclass video featuring Shane Warne, Ian Healy and Ricky Ponting. It's another fun video in this masterclass series and well worth a look if you haven't seen it already.
"why did u retire"..that was probably a good question to a player who was in good form when retiring...and also srilanka were struggling without experienced players. But mahela had already replied elsewhere " its not the match performance that is difficult for me...its the off match practise and training which tires me"
Hey! We'll be putting out some more old videos this year! There are some we can't post for rights reasons, but let us know if there's anything in particular you'd like to see again!
Jacques Henry Kallis has to be the greatest player to ever play the sport of cricket, to be 3rd on the list of getting runs and taking catches along with number of scalps he collected as well, forget allrounder, batsman, slipfielder, he is the greatest player PERIOD.
In terms of stats, Kallis is the greatest, in terms of quality, Sobers was the best (didn't seen him play apart from youtube footage but read lots of articles and admiration from the players who saw him or played with him)
Ladies and Gentlemen, this is our favourite sport called Cricket, but we cannot watch it due to some fucked up copyright issues which no other sport has.
It is not easy to standing in slips when kumble and Harbhajan are bowling and also in indian pitches wicket keeps low compared to other Asian pitches, so according to me Dravid is clearly the best

that catching during the drill was crazily good
You lose so much ability so quickly when you stop playing as well. Can't imagine how good he must have been.
His brilliance was under spotlight for me and glad they brought it up here. Absolutely brilliant isn't he
Oh well it was good to see the footage of the actual game...
Copyright issues
😂
😂😂😂
Hahaha
You know what copyright is right?
He retired from playing 5 yrs ago ... Wow he still got the skill
This was filmed in 2016, not long after he had retired from internationals. Still crazy impressive.
He’s still got it Mahela
What a team it was.. Mahela,Murali, Dilshan,Sangakara, Malinga,jaywardhane.. Absolute legends of the game
Also don't forget Chaminda Vaas
Jaysuriya
SL🔥
What a legend! Apart from being a terrific cricketer, what a master coach he is.
Mumbai Indians owe a lot to this man too.
So true. Great tactician in cricket!
Mahela Jayawardene probably the most greatest slip catcher ever. He has amazing reflexes even at 43! What a player he was for Sri Lanka.
Mark Waugh was
@@jetpark3743 I'd say Mahela. His tactful positioning was master-class even before catching the ball.

His reaction time at that age is impressive!
How Sky Sports couldn't get the rights for this is mad
Hope you all enjoy this masterclass from the slip catch master himself! 🙌
From rights reasons, a very small portion of this video has been blurred.
You mean all of them?
@Sky Sports Cricket Please upload Warne's indoor leg spin masterclass
Imagine this guy works as your coach??
Mumbai Indians are really lucky to have him as a coach!
Mahela at slip is an emotion we crave to feel once more 😢❤️
Truly jaywardene is a legend
I am really proud of you Mahela as a Sri Lankan !
“You don’t want miss anything from murali” brohh😂♥️🔥
Love that at the bottom of the most prolific bowler/catching duos is Anil Kumble and......Anil Kumble
Hes on another level.
Yeah he was a great slip fielder off his own bowling.
Ran quickly to the slip position after bowling and before batsman edging.. amazing bowler 👌

Mahela still got those hands. Pure silk.
Mahela Jayawardene, what a player ❤️

Pretty hard to argue with that. Gary sobers maybe, or don bradman
In terms of stats, Kallis is the greatest, in terms of quality, Sobers was the best (didn't seen him play apart from youtube footage but read lots of articles and admiration from the players who saw him or played with him)
Sir Garfield Sobers for me, and then Kallis.
Kallis is the greatest cricketer in my books too. Its just unbelievable what he has achieved in this game.
you real legand in the world ever🇱🇰
Omg, he is still good
Only if test cricketers stopped playing naked on the field, RUclips didn't have to censure them.
Those footages were brilliant I didn't miss any. Thank You SkySport 🥴
Mahela is a super golfer now.
Amazing!
0:46 Kumble took 35!! catches off his own bowling 😯

What a legend 😢❤
Why blur out the catches if you are trying to show something?
Probably because of youtube copyright
@@chiragchahal5037 true true but there is a valuable lesson to learn here if you are an aspiring young cricketer
As good a player as anybody ❤️
But the catches are blurred?

Whats with the blur?
Past matches must have had copyrights issue hence the blur. For a moment I thought my screen had steam
Mark Waugh ❤️❤️
Did u guys see Anil kumble has got 35 catches off his own bowling 🧐🧐
My favorite always is Sir Rahul Dravid top on that list
Mahela 149 matches. If he played further easily could have been at the top
