It seems that the repressed feeling emerged from his subconscious when he transformed into a titan. Especially because he didn't act to kill like the other titans do (eating).
Fun Fact: After Eren finishes his initial conversation with Pyxis, he appears to have been given a new boot and shirt as his outfit shows no sign of damage, but his sleeve is shown as ripped again once the operation begins 🤔🤔🤔
