      Indeed. And that's how they minimized regret. Rather than trading back they traded forward. If Dallas Turner ends up an all-pro, they'd have regretted trading back for future cut candidates.

    I think the GM did an excellent job limiting regrets during the draft. Many on your pod casts were talking about moving up to get our QB. There was talk about giving up both 1rst this year and one next year. I listened to pod cast of NE fans. The talked about 3 first and our left tackle. Just crazy what people thought we might do out of desperation to get a possible franchise QB. Which might be a bust see SF draft a few years ago. I am so glad our GM did not go off the rails and sale the farm to get our QB of the future. We got great player in Turner with our other first round pick. . If we only win 6 games which many are projecting. We have another high 1st round draft pick next year. There won't be huge pressure to get JJ out earlier cause we paid so much for him and we would have to prove it was worth 3 first rounders. He get a chance to develop and learn pro game. Thanks for your show

    GMs will do deals with anyone, as long as their front office team chimes in positively. These are high end individuals and their offices are built of high-end individuals. If they want a player/s they'll go into each deal with anyone.
    I asked Ron Wolf if there are any GMs he wouldn't do a deal with and that's what he told me.

      ...he said that to KOC BEFORE being drafted. He did not say it to any of the many teams (according to JJ) in the pre-draft process, even though he spent a significant period of time with others and was shopped to teams drafting higher like the Commanders and Giants.
      Not saying it means everything, but it certainly isn't something he was saying to anyone or something that he says lightly, which was the whole point they are making.

    I don’t like these shows where you guys kiss the butt of kwesi. You guys can’t say anything that bad about kwesi. You have to be careful or he or anyone else won’t ever come on the show. You don’t hear kwesi talking about how awful the 22 draft was and how we recoup from a draft where we had a bunch of day one and two picks and failed on all of them.

    • @phillipprimmer1535
      @phillipprimmer1535 6 дней назад

      They've hammered him on mistakes. Since that draft Kwesi has done an amazing job. That was his first draft as well as KOCs. Lest we forget, that was Donatells defense and like we leaned on Flores to identify and value his guys, we did, and SHOULD HAVE GIVEN Donatel the same input. Now, we all know Donatel ended up a disaster, but you can't separate him from the 2022 defensive draft picks. Those are most of any HIS baby. Kwesi's biggest mistake in that regard was hiring Donatel. KOC had a hand in that as well. They've learned from and corrected that mistake. That's what you hope for when you aggressively go after young potentially brilliant, potentially generational fixtures in a franchise. You know they will make some mistakes and have some growing pains. You hope it's a quick process. It sure seems to have been. Kwesi and KOC are great hires and should be extended.

    • @jameslyon163
      @jameslyon163 6 дней назад

      @@phillipprimmer1535 They always give kwesi excuses when he makes a bad decision. Ryan pace was put in the same position as kwesi and has definitely drafted better than him and gotten better value when he trades his picks. You can absolutely tell kwesi doesn’t know what he is doing when it comes to anything with the draft. He has not received good value in return when he trades picks. He has done a good job with the cap. I wish the Vikings would have gotten someone with more experience. Kwesi has no experience when it comes to scouting players. He has not been in football half his life, like a lot of the good GMs. You can be impressed with him and that’s your right, but I am not impressed with him. Good GMs don’t throw away picks like kwesi. The great teams build through their drafts.

    • @phillipprimmer1535
      @phillipprimmer1535 6 дней назад

      Im pretty sure JJ and Dallas were ranked by big boards and projections to be worth more than all of our draft picks combined for this draft. Predraft slot value goes out the window when players you have valued why higher start to fall. Then it's about the player value. Draft picks don't play. Players do.

    • @jameslyon163
      @jameslyon163 6 дней назад

      @@phillipprimmer1535 All the good players are draft picks and they have to play to become players. JJ was not seen as a top 25 player and a lot of scouts had him graded as a second rounder. We gave up first , 2 seconds, third, fourth and a fifth for pick 17. That pick was not worth that capital.

    • @phillipprimmer1535
      @phillipprimmer1535 6 дней назад

      Again, draft picks don't play, players do. Charts are a best guess at average value over years of drafts, not actual value for players in any given draft. If a player is identified as worth far more than a slot you can get him at, overpaying based on the chart to move up to get a player who has more value than said slot can be a GREAT move. You're that guy the voice is about. Picks are means go get players. Players play. The only value in a pick is the ability to get a player, where the true value lies.
