Arowanas are freshwater bony fish of the family Osteoglossidae, also known as bony tongues. In this family of fish, the head is bony and the elongated body is covered by large, heavy scales, with a mosaic pattern of canals. The dorsal and anal fins have soft rays and are long based, while the pectoral and ventral fins are small. The #Arowana is a facultative air breather and can obtain oxygen from air by sucking it into its swim bladder, which is lined with capillaries like lung tissue.
Arowana originates from South America and found in several Asian rivers and lakes as well. These fascinating #fish are kept in aquariums and cost differently based on their scale coloration, presence of golden texture, or priced based on the effort needed to breed them. They are one of the attractive #aquarium fish they are aggressive, high jumpers, and uniquely mouthbrooders.

I would assume that he's using filter media from an already cycled tank with high bio load. If not then yikes, but I doubt it. If this guy has this many fish and a tank that size, I doubt that he'll miss something so obvious

@@thellama3239 very likely precycled using media from other tanks or a fishless cycle. No ammonia spike.
its fine when you heat the room and let them acclimate to the same temp then dump them into a precycled tank.

I don't keep fish, but even I know that there should be something on the bottom of that tank, every creature loves to have an "alone" spot that they can feel safe, and not having "elbow room" so to speak.

@@nakhorri Only for very few fish. Most natural aquatic habitats have plenty of hiding places, especially for very small fish.
@@fructosecornsyrup5759 i agree, but in this case these fish stay together to feel safe, they dont go sit in a hiding space alone🙂

Be carefull doing big bucket (¾ water) lean on glass.
Glass can easily break apart if ”suffering” pressure on it.

You taking the piss? You don't NEED plants, nor do you need "oxygen pumping" whatever that is. If you're talking about an air pump (not oxygen) it adds AIR, not oxygen to the tank, the air moving helps circulate water and increases oxygen exchange at the surface. The surface of the water is already moving, so there is definitely filtration. It's highly likely the water is dropping into a sump down below.
In short, what I'm saying is, use your fucking eyes.

They'll be dead very soon. The Arowana will eat them all with in two weeks. I have 3 arowana's and I have to order 1,000 minows at a time. Or 300 goldfish.
