Hi there , good to see, that so many people start thinking about meat and where it comes from. We startet Highland cattle breeding in 2019 as well and are really happy with the idea of giving them best conditions in the nature.

Great video. You are so informative. We are so into eating meat. So glad Chad sent us your way. I am very excited 😊

The other thing you did not mention is their meat is high in the right kinds of omega fatty acids. ❤ healthy and good for the 🧠 too. We used to have a Highland beef producer near us and I would get beef from him. Sadly not any of his children wanted to continue the farm.

@@100AcreWoodHighlands the more original the breed the healthier, majority of modern cattle are outer hybrid… breed from buffalo and yak many years ago. I have had Highland beef but I will definitely look for it. Definitely healthier

Great video as usual Rhett. I think by the time Highlands make it to The Ridge, they are gone be way too expensive! Ha! They are on the list nonetheless!!!

The prices have gone way up, but if you can find then outside of auctions they're more reasonable

Takes a year or more to get them processed?
    I’m in only as well
Retired early thinking about doing south polls , Dexters maybe
Just bought 400 acres with a decent set up for cattle already
I just need to get my cattle and figure how to get the meat processed etc and sell my own etc

It seems like Black angus is promoted as the of choice of beef to eat restaurants & some markets. Can you compare highlands to black Angus for eating?

    • @ItsTheTopC
      @ItsTheTopC 4 месяца назад

Highland is healthier, black angus is good but definitely a marketing play.

8:45 that’s how halal meat is processed the animal should be respected with a good life especially if we’re taking their life by force.when people think halal meat people think it’s only slicing the throat and praying over it but it’s more than just praying it’s also how the cattle was brought up

I want Mini Highlanders..not to eat, just for pets although I dont oppose eating beef.
The minis are just so stinkin cute!
    Does anyone ever milk Highlanders?
I have dairy goats, so don't need a lot of cow's milk but it would be cool if I could milk the mini highlander cows.

I don't know anyone personally who milks them, but im sure it could be done. I think it's great to raise them just for enjoyment!

Highland milk has much higher fat content than other breeds, and are therefore perfect for butter and cheese.
