If you dont like that design u could just use two dripstone, a cauldron, a lava bucket, and a few blocks Place a cauldron at the ground and place a block three blocks higher than the cauldron, then place lava above that block and border the lava with blocks so it wont flow, then place two dripstone below the block that is below the lava. Then the lava will drip onto the cauldron and soon the cauldron will be filled with lava in just a few mins without the source above the dripstone running out This might seem useless but know that a lava bucket can smelt 100 blocks.
And if you want efficiency or just want to cook more with less time you could get a super smelter Its very simple here are the materials : • 8 furnaces •one boat with chest •a few blocks •16 hoppers • double chest Find a suitable place to build this super smelter, then place a double chest and place the 8 hopper connecting to the chest with in a 3x3 space and leave a block in the middle( just connect the hopper with another hopper that goes to the chest if its not in direct contact with the chest ) then place the 8 furnaces above the 8 hoppers and place another 8 hoppers above the furnaces ( but this time the hoppers above the furnace must go directly to the furnace below ) then place blocks in the middle. Then place a boat with chest directly in the center of the block in the middle at the top of the super smelter. Make sure that the boat with chest is exactly in the center. Good idea... did that at a bigger scale with the bamboo farm detached and water pipeline towards the furnace... But depending on the server u olay at, this might not work or be insufficient fuel supply

Yup, I'm using 2 furnaces and feeding in 40 bamboo plants and even that isn't enough, I'd probably say that 30-40 plants for one furnace would be needed.
That is a ok start I would use mud blocks instead of grass or dirt, mud is a pixel shorter and hopper minecarts can pick up the drops better. Definitely looks tillable.
It's pretty easy to smelt your iron without coal you can use a wooden pickaxe or a diamond pickaxe you can use planks you can use sticks you can use logs or you can use charcoal
Better use lava farm or kelp farm, dry and from first block you can dry enough to make it unlimited fuel, also you need an off lever for it to stop stacking
I use lava, drip stone and a cauldron. Infinite lava. Mine has 24x cubes of lava and drip stone so that’s 24 cauldrons possibly getting a full cauldron. Use buckets to pick up lava and place lava in furnace. Buckets are not consumed.
Protip: use waterstream to transfer the bamboo into one single hopper. Make bigger farm and a storage which connects to furnace so that you can access bamboo for other uses too.
Dude just use kelp 1. Build simple farm in water or ocean 2. Smelt the kelp ( 1 dried kelp block = 20 smelted blocks 3. use that one block to smelt 20 more kelp and get 2 blocks of dried kelp - So on and so forth. 4. Use it for smelting. Bamboo for fletcher trades Thank me later .
you don't need rails or a minecart hopper if you just replace the grass blocks with mud and place the hoppers under them. makes it a block shorter and reduces materials
Lesson learned: don't waste 3 hours of Minecraft on this build, just get a furnace, get the most common ore which is coal in a mine or something, and just... Smelt stuff normally.
I've got 40 bamboo being used for fuel for 2 furnaces and the bamboo can't keep up. I seriously doubt that 3 bamboo plants will be enough to be considered "unlimited fuel"
As yes. As soon as I spawn in. I will start looking for redstone. And then I'll travel 2000 blocks away to a bamboo jungle before finally making my furnace
I was laying here half asleep watching shorts.. and when this first popped up and I saw herobrine... I actually jumped. It woke me all the way back up. Dang it.
Just use lava, it can cook up to 100 items, also if you have acess to netger it does not take time abd infact you can build your own lava farm by just having 1 cauldron, 1 drip stone, 5 blocks which dont burn abd a lava block.
That farm produces 53 bamboo per hour, making it entirely insufficient to fuel the furnace for long enough to smelt many items, ots also not as fast as shown in the video as the game's tickspeed was turned up.
Oh you need much bigger bamboo farm like that to fuel this furnace properly. Build a lava farm instead. It is way cheaper and adequate for just one furnace.

Bamboo however IS a good fuel source, even farmed legitimately.
Lava cooks 100 blocks so having a 2x2 lava pool in a small basement next to your furnaces is really the best way to do it.
But then you would only be able to use it 4x max bc unlike water it doesnt become an infinite lava source

Kelp blocks are actually surprisingly good 👍 just farm a crap ton of kelp and make them into blocks.
Just build a small scale super smelter, chop down a shit ton of trees and use that super smelter to turn the logs into charcoal.

Now you can auto craft the bamboo into blocks and then again into bamboo planks, allowing more efficient smelting
