I find this song painfully relatable and in someway healing of my spirit.
For me, this song is the most underrated masterpiece ever made by Evanescence. The depth of the lyrics, the beauty of the voice, the instrumentation...Amy Lee as a musician reached a new level here, and yet, for some reason, this wasn't a hit and people prefer the more simple and superficial songs of the first album.
However, if there is some justice on earth this unique band is certainly going to be big!

One of Evanescence's most gorgeous songs...Amy is a phenomenal songwriter in addition to being in the upper echelons of female vocalists. Her songs have gotten me through some really rough times!

Hi David, totally agree with you. I have been saved multiple times by Evanescence and specially Amy's voice. I will never meet her, never been able to tell how she saved my lives multiple times, I will never find someone like her again! I am first in line to meet her if you start on the bottom. Like 8 billion before me.... But I am hoping she can save me from the nothing I have become and until then I am alone all along. Where will I go when I have no one left to save me from myself? Although I am lost in this earthly paradise, I feel like I have nothing left. Maybe I just don't want to escape. Sometimes I even dare to use my voice! To whole Evanescense and in particular Amy: remember for the world you might feel somebody but for somebody you are (my) world!

My brother completed suicide in 2016. I used to listen to this all the time way before then. Recently I’ve re-listened to it and understand it more. He left a scar on my heart that won’t ever be healed. The part where she sings “one day we won’t feel this pain anymore take it all away, the shadows of you because they won’t let me go” resonates so much with me now. This song encapsulated our struggles in life and he couldn’t handle it anymore. Now all I feel is this cruel wanting. Now I’m officially lost in paradise.

+Perniagaan Rita Cloud Nine for me and this one. Cloud Nine has an energy difficult to match. A music video with that much power would have made my TV explode.
Yeah, Wind-Up, their former record label really dropped the ball with this one. The fact that it was damn near topping charts on iTunes, by casual listeners, people who weren't even buy the rest of the album, should have made them book a video shoot asap. Don't get me wrong, My Heart is Broken is my fave from this album, but it never should have been a video compared to this.

What i love about amy lee's music is that she doesnt just sing or play the piano. She makes you feel the music. She conveys her emotion with her beauty. She makes the song unforgettable even if you dont like her music you wont forget the way it makes you feel. She understands the true beauty of pain and she tries to make you see it in her music. Very few artists are capable of putting so much emotion into the music and even fewer can cause you to feel it. You dont just listen to her music....you feel it.

I think all of us can relate to this song. Because this song summarizes everything we've all been through with Evanescence. All the emotions we've felt. All the problems that their lyrics and sound have helped us with. It's been an amazing 10 year journey for me and this song nearly gets me crying every time I hear it.

I started to listen to Evanescence years ago when I was living the worst part of my life. When I listened to their songs, I thought it was comforting to know that I was not the only one to feel that way. When I started to see the interviews of Amy Lee, I noticed how positive and happy she was so I confused that how can a positive and always smiling person write such depressive songs. Now I realize that no matter how bad I feel, I should keep my mind positive. That was what Amy tried to show. She is the biggest inspiration for me and no matter how many bands I discover day by day, Evanescence is the only band I go back to in the end.
This song has so much emotion in it, its unbelivable. When I hear this song I not only feel what she sings but also feel that its going on much longer then it actually does. Thank you Amy. Your a amazing singer.

When I first heard this song I was inspired with an entire story. I could've written a book by just listening to this song. I still remember the story. Maybe I should start writing again? Evenescence is by far my favourite band in the world and I will never see them live, because I live in South Africa. Our currency is not really strong enough for us to afford trips to the US. Heres an interesting fact she sings all of her song in chest voice rather than the high notes being in head voice (unless you a singer you might not get this) this is very hard to do making her so incredible and unique........
