- Tonight the The Queen and the Royal Family of Denmark, Nordic heads of state, representatives from official Denmark, the business and cultural community and many more took part and saw a performance at the Royal Theatres Old Stage in Copenhagen, Denmark. This for the occation o the 50 years anniversary of Her Majesty The Queen Margrethe of Denmark accession to the throne.

For the ones interested. For quite a few years Queen Elisabeth topped the global Royal protocol due to her long reign. With the sad passing of Queen Elisabeth the Danish Monarch Queen Margrethe II now tops the global Royal protocol WHY she was the one standing opposite King Charles closest to the alter at the funeral service in London. Since she lost her husband a few years ago, she were accompanied (to her right, nobody to her left since she tops the protocol) by the Danish Crown Prince Frederik. The Danish Monarch have now been sitting on the throne for over 50 years. The Danish Monarch recently made a rare interview, just about her relationship with Queen Elisabeth and amongst other things revealed she often visited her privately when in UK and that they actually called each other Lillybet and Daisy (The Danish Monarch´s name, Margrethe are very close to the flower (in Danish) Magurit that in English are called "Daisy". They were personal friends and the Danish Queen were actually granted some time (I believe it was Sunday) with the coffin and shed tears. The Interview that were filmed less than a year ago are to be found here on YT and gives a rare honest insight in my opinion. Many stations have clips from it but one of the longer ones in English are titled: "Queen Margrethe II of Denmark says Queen Elizabeth II made 'enormous impression' on her | ITV News"

Kate actually were in Denmark on a semi official/semi private visit a few months ago, where she primarily were together with our Crown Princess Mary but also meet the Queen and the Crown Prince so ties, even amongst non blood related, are continuing. I applaud strong ties between Denmark and UK although UK foreign department have made many grave protocol errors last week, not least when it comes to Our Royals. At least the UK ambassador of own drive gave a "deep felt apology".
Thank you for sharing, it is interesting to learn about the other European Monarchies. I knew Queen Margrethe was close to Queen Elizabeth II but I didn't realise how close.
@@Marie-Elaine You are welcome. Throughout our Monarchies existence, well over 1200 years, there have been several examples of marriages between Danish and UK Royals. The historical tie are deep.
I do remember watching the Queen speak about her friendship through the years with Queen Elizabeth. I always thought they were distantly related to one another perhaps through Philip’s line. Of course, Philip and Elizabeth were related distantly as well. They all have relations on some level though distant to the British, German, Greek or Russian Families. They are likely all related one way or another and possibly another line which I have failed to address.Queen Victoria also had many children who she married off all over Europe. Of course, Queen Victoria was related to both Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip and maybe ?

The Queen rightfully ignores the shouts of the photographers, giving them all plenty of time to shoot her at the top of the stairs, as the rest of them should have,. Yes, they want their photos taken. They simply should know that if there's an array of photographers in front of them, well, you look right, straight ahead and left and you don't let them dictate what you do, whether you are a princess or a street cleaner. I have nothing against professional photographers, but they shouldn't shout orders to their photographic subjects unless they were hired to shout orders to them to create the best portrait. In this case, the photographers couldn't care less about the guests arriving. They just want to get paid by some tabloid for a shot of this or that royal. Were I Prince X, I would have created a scandal by walking over to Photographer Y and telling him that I don't need cues on how to pose, as I had already been photographed 5,000 times in my life, thank you.
Exactly what I was thinking, those annoying and arrogant photographers should've been told off right on the spot!

There is a partial list in the video description, but it's not in order. The gentleman using arm crutches was King Harald of Norway with his wife, Queen Sonja. King Karl XVI Gustav and Queen Silvia of Sweden came in earlier; she was wearing as a tiara a circlet of large amethysts. Somewhere in there were Crown Prince Frederick and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, with their two oldest children, Prince Christian and Princess Isabella. Queen Margrethe's two sisters arrived together; they are (former) Queen Anne-Marie of Greece, and Princess Benedikte of Denmark and Dowager Princess of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg. Several of the cnildren and children-in-law were in the parade as well. Oh, Queen Margrethe's younger son Prince Joachim and his wife Princess Marie came in with his two eldest, Prince Nikolai and Prince Felix. Their mother, Prince Joachim's first wife Countess Alexandra, came in by herself. There were a bunch I didn't recognize - possibly non-royal heads of state. I follow a royal jewellery blog, so I tend to recognize them more.

I think this is what Charles is aiming for and I think this is how he wants the British Royal fold to look like in the end and I think it's just lovely, elegant, dignified, stately and very very relevant to this age. Good on you, Charlie now if you can only start talks to return what your ancestors stole from the common wealth and pay reparations. The European royals all have jobs and pay taxes but they have their titles and their royal duties they attend to yet they lead relatively normal lives.
