Great to see a father and son hunt. I elk hunt every year but my son works a lot and he hasn’t been with me in over 20 years. Well done and congratulations on your first elk!!!
This looks like the same area me and my family go every year. Really good area if so. Me and my brother each dropped a really nice bull, side by side last year! It was such a surreal moment for both of us! Congrats on your bull
Wow that’s awesome Josh!! Yea if we’re in the same area there’s definitely great potential their! I appreciate that, after 3 years of hard hunting and getting skunked, this was a moment I’ll never forget!
Thank you so much!🤝🏻 It’s all about being at the right place at the right time, the mountains do NOT give away their elk just as you know! You’re time will come, hunt hard!
Great content, thanks for sharing, what was your camp set up ? Hot tent with stove or car camping? Did you feel quad was a must have? Thanks again and greetings to your dad
Hey M.H! Appreciate it! We base camped it in a soft tent which what heated by a high efficiency propane heater(lot of room for any bad gases to escape). We’ve used horses in the past and I can honestly say depending on how much you enjoy using horses or not, time wise it is definitely a lot more efficient to get to your spot quickly by quad if you can. Very efficient vs renting horses like we do too where they’re not use to you and visa versa!
I don’t want to put our exact spot out to the world on here for obvious reasons, but down in the Southwest Mountain range of Colorado💪🏼 Switched it up this year
