In my opinion the Volt has been very good since it was first released. It’s so good to run with a sniper or marksman because it’s still good at medium range
Naaaah there were definitely seasons, where the volt had way less dmg than r99/car. Still okay, but why would you play an inferior weapon?
The Volt was the best SMG when it was launched. But since the CAR, R99 had better damage and faster shooting it was outclassed even though it could be equal. Would be great if weapons are not cumbersome and have too long of a TTK.
@@leonawroth2516 because it’s more versatile as I explained. Higher dps doesn’t always mean better. Weapons with higher DPS usually have more strict win conditions. So it really depends how you play the game. If you’re rushing and barrelstuffing everyone then yeah R99 is way better even now

Nah the volt is doodoo. The TTK is too low now on all the SMG's. The LStar on the other hand is OP so I'd rather have an LStar and a PK/Mastiff now

I’ve always liked the volt
One benefit the Volt has over the R-99 is that it is a better off drop weapon since it's less reliant on attachments to be good. The iron sights are some of the best in the game, and with the damage it does, 19 rounds should be enough to down one or two players. The reload speed is also faster, and attachments only make it better as the game goes on. It also shares an ammo type with the Nemesis or L-Star if you want a more effective midrange option.
Comp highlights are so fun to watch.
Hope the boys crush it in Pro League and we get more of these highlight uploads in the future.

I always thought people slept on the Volt, it's fantastic for hipfiring with and because it doesn't fire ridiculously fast you don't end up emptying the clip
just to give the volt more credit then it deserves. the volt CAN 1 clip ANY ARMOR AND FORTIFIED LEG SHOTS ONLY AT ANY ARMOR with its damage output. the r99 and the car both require at least one reload, as the volt, r99, and car all have the same mag size at purple, being 26 shots. it takes the volt, doing only leg shots to someone with fortified and with 225 health, red shields, 21 shots to kill them, giving you 5 extra misses to work with at purp mag. however, the car takes 29 shots, and the r99 takes a whopping 33 shots. you might think this would be offset by the reload time, but its actually set off by the fire rate, meaning you have a better chance to miss more bullets in a shorter period of time with the r99 and car then you do with the volt. ALSO, the volt has the shorter reload time, being the most friendly when it comes to not only aim recovery and mag usuage per kill, but also making it so you're only out of the battle for a couple seconds less the r99 and car. however this doesnt change the dps outputs of all three guns. which sadly the volt comes in the lowest at with 180 dps, compared to the newly nerfed car at 186, and the r99 at only 198, this is a very big difference in overall usability between the smgs, because the battle could be decided due to that dps in a skirmish. but the volt might be more worthwhile than the r301 and flatline to pick up, as the flatline has 180 dps as well, and the r301 has only 176 dps. of course this is all null and void when it comes to how you feel when you pick up each individual gun, because some minor detials outside of specs can determine how good the gun is for you specificially, even if you spend months practicing the flatline over the r301, you might find that you like and feel better with the 301 anyway. anyway yea, they also added kill cams which is sick, the game is kinda fun again

Nice to see conduit in comp. Shes one of the literal support character other than lifeline and newc. The rest of support characters are for selfish plays and doesnt contribute to an actual fight.

Problem with damage nerf is how TTK could make the game feel longer than it could been. I wished weapons was made a bit more meta while also maintaining good pacing in game. Having far too long gameplay can feel like a chore too.

My favourite weapons are volt(been using since day 1) with the 2X hemlock with a 2X
Re45 with a 2X and alternator with a 2X
Eva eight shotgun and Mozambique
Sentinel with a 3x
Longbow 2x
G7 2-4x

I mean the volt does hit hard but car is still decent
180dps with volt, 186 with car, r99 still has the highest dps(i think 200+)
but the r99 and car has a way smaller margin of error[miss some shots and you don't have enough to one clip a red, i think r99 can miss 6 while car can miss 7(?) with a purple mag]
volt still has around half a mag after that
if you have no mag/white mag, car
if you have blue or purple mag, r99
if you have energy ammo or want consistency, use volt

I’ve always liked the volt. Ammo Econ is rough though. I’ve had the same idea lol as soon as I read the patch notes though where I thought hopefully the volt can be viable again, it’s been rough for awhile. Still quite a bit lower ttk but that damage per mag is Gucci. I’ve always thought about the volt as a midpoint between r99/car and the alternator with both ttk and damage per mag. Dps has always just been so broken the benefits are hard to see. Not sure if volt will rise up as a meta gun now but it’s getting real close lately.

well it did get nerfed before, they fucked the ttk back then
If they want to nerf SMGs why are they so hesitant to bring back the AR hipfire man. Used to be ARs we’re too meta and SMGs weren’t getting used as AR hipfire was still pretty strong close range. Respawn nerfs AR hipfire, then suddenly SMGs are way too good. Now they keep trying to balance SMGs in any way possible besides reverting that change, or even just a half revert or tune so we don't end up with a straight AR meta again. I want to feel like I can get away with an AR close range and not feel like it’s required to pick up an SMG again man. No matter what changes they do to make SMGs or shotties worse it will always be required to have one for close-range fights if there isn't another viable option, Close-range fights are just too important it's like 80% of the game. SMG meta is just getting tiring, and shotties would have to get really strong to see meta use again as bullet slow and punch are just so much less reliable with them.

Timmy is maybe the best player ever, but his bang ults need some work. Half the time he throws the ult over the enemy team and does no damage.
Ult is just damage, it pushes people away. It's zone control, but yeah he could get better

My hot take that everyone is going to hate. I don't think armor swap should exist in the game like it is now. It should have the same delay timer that you get when swapping from a full armor to a damaged one.

I feel there is so much going on when it comes to comms. You guys need to once and for all just listen and make the plays only 1 person calls. I feel more than 1 player calling plays most of the time it does not work.
The R-99 and Car still kill faster than the volt. volt has a 1.13s TTK and the r99 and car have a 1.08s TTK Havoc (turbo) and prowler are the fastest ttk guns
