that tip about the durability of taking bumps really helps. a beginner looking to replace the replay pro. still takes dings occasionally. would like another plastic for this reason. so something durable that is a next step up from the replay pro. not ready for metal yet being afraid of damage.

i do that all the time. yoyoing basically helps me to focus so i don't have to concentrate more when i play, it is easier for me to concentrate when i play.

Remember that yoyoing improves eye-hand coordination. If it's highly improved that's where it gets the point of multitasking such as talking, walking, running, etc.

Ive been yoyoing for about 7ish months and i want to get a skyva for the colors but the wedge seems nicer for play and for long combos what should i get

yotricks Oh uhm.. Actually the video still does not match up with the Diameter and width corrected on the website. Sorry to point that out :o .. guess it is not as big of a difference as the weight but yeah.
Not sure why they are not the same. Could just be variation differences yoyo to yoyo.
yotricks Hmm. Yeah the difference is small enough but I remember it being listed as those numbers in the video before the fix. So it was corrected on the website but forgotten in the video. But there is a genuine chance of me remembering very wrong. :)

Yotricks, i find that the M005 has really stepped up its game have you given it a shot?
I have not had a chance to try that one out. I have tried the Stealth which is definitely a step in the right direction, but not quite there. I'll be sure to try the M005 as soon as I can.

Skyva VS Horizon... could you give a description of what difference you are getting with each??? other than metal and plastic of course... but like finger spin duration, how easy landing finger spins is, how it plays on the string, etc

so i bought the skyva player pack and out of the box, I noticed the skyva is not as smooth as other reviewers said it would be and I also have issues twisting it to have access to the bearing. What can I do about it? Thanks
All plastic yoyos have a little bit of vibration, regardless of what anyone might say about it. If you feel it is too much you can always return it, but I suspect that the next plastic yoyo you get will be about the same.
As far as taking it apart, sometimes getting it apart the first time can be difficult, but it should be easy after that.

It makes finger spins a little easier at first, but in general it is not superior to those yoyos.

I got a Skyva for Christmas eve. But it I can't get it unscrewed. It is really tight. Is there a reason for this?
That happens with some yoyos. It should be okay if you force it open.

No. The Skyva is not very durable, so it is not an excellent option for newish players.

Skyva is probably the best playing yoyo of the bunch, but the Replay Pro is easily the most durable, and plays nearly as good.

I feel that most of the regular metal yoyos at that price - like the Canon, Shutter, or Horizon, are much better yoyos. It is okay, but but there are better options at that price.

kyler thomas Go for the Skyva, I have both and have found that the Skyva is much easier for learning. although if you're brand new to yoyoing I would go with the horizon or the shutter

Does it able to do 3A well?
As we mention in the video it is not a very durable yoyo. When practicing 3a the yoyos often slam into each other, so we would not recommend this yoyo for 3a.

The Skyva is an excellent playing yoyo, but it is quite fragile, so for newer players we would recommend the Replay Pro.

If you are a relatively new player I would go for the Classic Pro. If you have had a number of yoyos and are looking for something new, definitely go for the Skyva.

No, you don't have to hit the dimple. The skyva has a secondary cup which if you hit it you have more time to hit the dimple.

Fat binds tighter and makes slack trick easier. Thin allows you to load more strings in the gap of the yoyo during complicated tricks.

my skyva came with a quiet ass center trac bearing. it is really smooth and the spin time is very long but i cant ever hit binds on it. i cant get finger spins back to my hand or any of my good binds. even when i put the bearing in my canon, which is my best yoyo for binds, it just wont land anything and i really do not know if my technique is wrong or if it is the bearing.
Is it making a little noise or is it making no noise at all?
the only way i can hear it is if i put it an inch from my ear it does not matter how fast i spin it, it just does not make much of a sound.
Try opening the yoyo and spinning the bearing with your finger. How long does it spin for?

If you are newer to yoyoing then the Replay Pro would be the better option. If you have been yoyoing for a while the SKYVA is also a good option, but the SKYVA can break if you damage it too much.

When I try to fingerspin, the yoyo just comes back to my hand. Why is that?
That means your yoyo is playing a little responsive. To do fingerspins your yoyo must be perfectly unresponsive.

Comparable means "equivalent quality". Look it up.

So for learning fingerspins I have heard that the Skyva is superior to the Horizon. What's your opinion?
It is easier to do finger spins on the Skyva, that is for sure. That being said, if the goal is to learn to fingerspin on any yoyo, the Skyva is not all that helpful because it is easy to do a fingerspin even with poor technique, so in that sense the Horizon is better for learning the skill of fingerspins.

Has the impressive execution of this design led you to reassess your opinion of MagicYoyo? I recall you guys having rather unflattering things to say about their product line...
We feel the same about their other products. We have nothing against the company, of course, we just don't recommend their yoyos... except for the Skyva. Our hope with this yoyo is that they will continue to release more yoyos with better attention to detail and better parts.
James Zetterman bowl fingerspin yoyos are harder to use, but you get much less friction and longer grind times. In short i prefer bowl cup designs like the horizon over the dimple in the skyva. But the skyva is exeption for fingerspin hops and its really good for just having fun horizontal

We didn't. It just went out of stock because we sold them much more quickly than expected. We will have more in stock within 2 weeks.
