Economy sucks and cardboard prices are unrealistic. 2013: I could afford rent/bills/groceries and still justify grabbing some Rank 7s for the extra deck.
I really appreciate the random plushies poking around on screen. Keeps things interesting and cute. Plus, justifies buying more plushies as a business expense.
I actually play Yu-Gi-Oh, MTG, Pokemon, and Cardfight Vanguard. I collect cards and deck boxes and sleeves for all 4, too. It's really fun to diversify your TCG interests.
How do you get started in Pokemon? I want to jump in but I don't want to buy a set when set rotation occurs (rendering said set's Pokemon obselete/illegal to play.) I've played and shared a few games with Pokemon Battle Academy to learn the basics (which it does a good job making it easy to understand with the booklets and two sided gameboard) Unlike Yugioh's two player set lol) Pardon the ignorance about Pokemon TCG. I am still very new to it and do want to build decks (meta I heard is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than Yugioh's top decks unless you chase alt arts)
@@u.a.perfectace7786I’d grab the client to play online (pctcg live); it will help you get more familiar with game and current meta and you should be able to build a meta competitive deck in little time (game is generous also with pre built decks that you can start with). But also, there’s a casual mode and you can play or practice whatever. I play more fun stuff than meta and the nice thing about Pokemon is you can’t get otked, so playing janky crap and generally playing around is fun.
Meta is def cheaper. It's like all of them, though: you have to play what you like, not what's meta. Then, when what you like *is* meta, you'll be double in love. For instance, I've been playing blue-red in MTG forever. Literally since Arabian Nights -- I have beta Islands I've owned since then. Sometimes blue red is *great*, sometimes it isn't. But I still play blue red. In Yu-Gi-Oh I play mostly Exosisters which isn't good enough but is *fun* and I like them.
@@u.a.perfectace7786 I don't play standard in Pokemon but I do play Expanded Format. Then there is also Legacy and Theme Format. Expanded is like Pioneer or Modern in MTG. I've actually heard people call Pokemon, MTG Lite. Lol. I built my own deck from scratch but you can buy Precons and play Theme Format if you're just starting out. It's typically best to buy 2 copies of the same Precon to build a playable, consistent deck with, if you're just gonna be playing casually with friends though. My play group mostly plays Expanded, but we do have some Theme Format decks for beginners to try out. My nephews all love Pokemon.
@@jonsalvadori6275 oh yeah, Pokemon is one of the best Meta's to buy into. It's very cheap, even for budget casual players like myself. I typically don't play meta in any TCG, but if I were to invest in a Meta Deck, I'd definitely go with Pokemon. I only just recently started investing in Meta Staples for Yu-Gi-Oh because they use to be so expensive but now with the 25th Anniversary products flooding the market, it's easier to save up for hand traps, and cards like Dark Ruler Nomore, and Called by the Grave, although those cards aren't as prevalent in this current format. I'm hoping the ban list will change that.
Won't lie I'm one of the Farfa transplants, but I've been enjoying your stuff since then. Hope you keep growing and getting the recognition and the subs you deserve.
10:26 I'm a ptcg player since 2023 Nov but a ygo player since 2011 Omg, I was raging that the electric stun boring deck won I was such a hater for this worlds format. Livid. The northamerican international was uber cool tho. Still an okay pokemon format and the format will get a big change with the next set. The deck that won worlds was a great meta call since it beat the two best decks coming into the tournament. And the decks it lost to were countered by the two decks it beat. It was interesting in thay regard.
Magic biggest traitor is so funny as a name for mbt
i find it funny he tries to find words that actually start with MBT for him

No, you could not get Draccosack at peak price in 2013 after all those other expenses. Yugioh was never cheap in most of its history
I forgot that worlds will be just a glorified locals. Sad lol
Thanks for the update bud. That banlist better be a slaughter.

Happy Birthday Kevin Owens.
Your videos are fantastic man, very enjoyable. Thank you!
Imagine a mega tin with no filler. Just good cards with good rates. Yeah I couldn’t either.
I tried to imagine that and future set releases with cards with multiple rarties for chase cards and staples.
I smiled and then, that smile went away.
Thank you Greg Feet, very cool!

The idea of electric stun seems funny, like I imagine Pikachu spamming Thunder Wave all over the place.
