It's funny that you mention that Waltz#2 sounds commercial, actually! It became very popular and he would have to sing it in many shows. During one performance he stopped after "I'm tired" and left. What I find interesting is that, even tho it has a more accesible sound, the lyrics are kind of heart wrenching and vulnerable. Thanks for another great reaction! P.S. Pitseleh deserves more love!
completely random q are you active on anime twitter by any chance? if not ignore this LOL,, great video and review. elliott smith is such a treasured artist
I mean I watched almost all essential anime and read some manga and I read some things on twitter about anime and stuff but not in something particular though lol
@@luggareviews ahh my bad, wrong lugga! you have the same name as someone on there lolol.. also im so glad you corrected your waltz #2 score. its such a genius song
I think XO is his peak. He clearly saw the opportunity of having a studio and grapsed it tightly. His crowning artistic achievement. I feel the next album steps up the production but the lyrics are dumbed down, basement from a hill though feels more like a return to form
@@JesusGomez-ob2qt I can’t entirely disagree given how strong all of his art was. I Personally think his lyrics didn’t waver much but I can see where your coming from they do change a bit. + basement is my favourite album I agree with your point there
Elliott is my favorite performer of all time however , XO is the album I listen to the least. It's got its moments and gems but I really have to be in my huge Elliott manic stage to jam it.
wow I find that take nuts. XO is probably his best album,..... Figure 8 gives it a run for its money as does EIther/OR... to each their own i guess....

Pitseleh is definitely one of my faves 🥺
I saw him stop it and say he wasn't feeling it.
But that was during an interview not a live show.
This is his best imo every sont has its own identity and r js too good
Independence Day is quite tricky to play. That is all, gives me grief sometimes

@@punpuniia yeah true, it sometimes happens that some tracks will grow on you the more you lsiten to them :)
Personally I feel his next two albums are far stronger then XO, in saying that tho XO is still really great
I am wondering where he will head to next on the next albums because the sound already changed so much on this album
@@luggareviews XO is my favorite overall.
@@jorraw yea sure why not, it has some really great cuts!
