Sr. Gaudia Skass, OLM speaks about the spiritual warfare in which all Christians are engaged, whether they know it or not. If our life’s goal is heaven and we want to help others to get there, then there will be a lot of fighting on the way. St. Faustina described many of her battles in her diary. She left us an amazing source of inspiration about how to win. In this talk Sr. Gaudia discusses this crucial topic of spiritual warfare for our lives in reference to the life of Jesus himself as well as Saint Faustina’s life and her writings.
Sr. Gaudia focuses in part one of her talk on the “first war zone”, so to say: fighting for others, for the salvation of souls. In the second part of her talk she emphases the “second war zone”: the battles within our own soul, the direct process of purification and sanctification. The love, passion, and reverence in her voice breaks through my soul with the compassion of Sr. Faustina, and ultimately, the compassion of Christ. May the Almighty continue to fill her with the Holy Spirit and continue using her as a tool to save many souls. I will pray for you Sister. This is outstanding! "all our familiars wait for our halting"... We are ALL in the battle of life, there is NO ESCAPE FROM IT. The only thing that matters is, is the friends we pick in the battle. Familiar Spirits that beat us up and halt us in the battle, or the friends of The Father! I thought this was good enough to pass on! Fix our eyes on Jesus, lest we sink instead of walking on the water, the waters, the familiar’s that beat us up…. Includes me too!

@@ChrisOakesCO We follow the magisterium of the Catholic Church - the teaching authority of the church which correctly interprets the word of God, this is composed of the Pope and his 5,000 bishops(all PhD in Theology and Psychology) and 400,000 priest - in this way we don't need to have hundreds of opinions on the bible - a priest will need 8 years of formal education on theology and philosophy just to get ordained - combined and backed up by years of education and experience, and a 2000 year history, they have a lot more qualification to teach than a bible preacher or you - and further more - they have not change their teachings on the sanctity of life and marriage as Christ has taught - unlike all other churches that has surrendered their faith to the secular world

Just wondering: why?
There were a lot of reasons. Not only one.
These are but a very few.
False accusations leveled against the Catholics. Such as; they dont know scripture, they worship saints, the Pope is the antichrist(i was born and raised Seventh day Adventist)
None of these things are true, yet the indictment is to this day leveled against them. Its alright with me to disagree. I get that. But the vitriol is indicative of something far deeper than simple disagreement.
Scripture simply doesnt work outside the Church. If all scripture is useful, and valid, what are we to do with certain passages? Throw them out? If we dont reject those passages, we have to reject the entirety of scripture. Im not ready to do that.
As for myself, id rather trust this blessed lady, than to trust the theological sophistry of the likes of Calvin and Luther. They studied scripture brilliantly. Yet by their friuts i know them as wolves among the flock. They did not actually know God. This dear lady clearly does know him.

Chris Oakes - you make an interesting and an unquestionably worthy point: maintain "an attitude of gratitude."
Your response suggests to me that you've not been exposed to spiritual warfare.
I was a 30-year atheist. Unlike most atheists, who seem to carry a very large chip on their shoulder towards religion, I always felt religion had its value - even if it had no substantiation in scientific knowledge - as a human construct for coping.
Then one day I experienced the most bizarre sustained sequence of events, unexplainable & against all laws of physics (_meteorology, thermodynamics & aerodynamics_, to be precise,) I had no choice but to become Christian.
Once I digested this event sequence and accepted Jesus, I was beset with vicious, anti-religious thoughts, the likes of which I had _never_ considered in all my decades of atheism. This burst of thoughts came from no obvious source and was as bizzarely novel as my religious experience a few nights before.
My point: This was my first exposure to the spiritual warfare.
So: psychology is real, but spiritual warfare is as real as one's devotion to God.
If I could attribute "spiritual warfare" events to psychology (or neurology, for that matter,) I would love to do so. Unfortunately the only correlation I see in the spiritual domain.

Chris Oakes - Okay. Happy to be wrong. I expect I was reading too much into your comment. Also, my experience is a little different - less absolute, maybe - than you describe. Probably due to the nature of our personalities & our different experiences. (Perhaps you have not let corruption into your life as I did.)

you said earlier, "_God is already with you, and all people need is to Know that because when you Know God is with you you face the enemy without fear!"_ So true. Most folks seem to panic & forget God first thing in a crisis. I can't blame them, because everything in this modern world seems meant to distract us from God in the 1st place.

Sometime in the 60s, with women's liberation, there developed the conclusion that female vocations were worthless. Perhaps they had been taken for granted.... In any case, I think the Sisters of OLM are in the vanguard of the restoration of female vocations.

Your talk adds to recent messages pointing to the power of prayer. My personal sin/failing has been to tell myself, "I don't have time to pray...today...I have too much to do. I started appreciating the Bible a lot more thanks to Saint Faustina's diary. Jesus communicated with her constantly. I never heard Jesus' words, advices, and desires were relayed to any saint to the extent He did with Saint Faustina. His messages are to all of us! Make time to read her diary. You learn a lot about God! His teaching is extraordinary to say the least. As I was a sinner and consequently as I applied few of his teachings in my life, I can feel His presence in my soul and am no longer afraid of my past. Unimaginable peace reigns in the heart who embraces Him. He truly forgives all your debts. This is what I experienced. I encourage you to take a spiritual dive. You will be amazed!

I try to teach my daughter about how so many things in the world, even in the benign grocery store, are meant to catch consumers up in the pitfalls of worldliness. Women in particular are susceptible to this, with their natural inclination to cosmetics. (In the interest of equal victimization, tho, the cosmetics companies are making inroads to men's psyches, too.)
Start with contentment & confidence, trust in Him, and your inner beauty will show through.

I am reading St Faustina's diary. It's great since you get the perspective of what Jesus wants from us. It gets to be painful often to read about Christ's wounds but it is necessary for everyone to read it. It really is.

I am over my head at the moment with trials ,the temptations are there,it's so easy to leave my rosary when I'm so tired,have so little time,feel unwell,distracted to the point of complete irritation.So I use my will and sometimes it's so difficult,I just keep fighting ,it never gets easier.Jesus forgive me.and help me.
If you’re still going thru temptations, a good way to deal with this is daily Mass and Eucharist. God bless

Yes Sister Gaudia, I am a Soldier of God and prayer is just one of the weapons I use in fighting my spiritual battles and fighting for the father-son mother God and Holy Ghost, but I must do more than pray and Good Deeds are good and good teacher important and I know neither one of these two things is what it's going to get me into heaven. Prayer and Good Deeds alone I'm not to you have to be pure of heart. How do we Attain being pure of heart I doing the best we can everyday and if we fall we get up and if we fall again we get up again! It's always comforting and absolutely amazing to hear someone say what I have felt. The Apostles Creed!!!!!!!!!!!! The first prayer of the Holy Rosary can take me 16 minutes to say because it is so profound. Thank you Lord 🙌🙌🙌. Then the Our Father...Hail Mary's....Glories Be's...the Mysteries...
My morning prayer can be so wonderful. My biggest prayer is for the reconversion of my family, the prayer said is The Divine Mercy Conversion Prayer, I say it on my way to take in The Holy Eucharist.
A verse that came to my attention while I faithfully wait is 2Peter 3:8-9 “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. Wow! A few days ago I asked you to pray for me and to ask the sisters at the Divine chapel to pray for me, I believe you honored my request and I just want to thank-you and let you know I have much love for you being a wonderful, most wonderful woman of God. I am feeling much better most of the debilitating hip pain is gone and I can walk now without collapsing from the pain Thankyou. If you didn't pray for me thank you for the teachings because I am doing much better spiritually since I started studying the diary of sister faustina concerning the Divine Mercy picture through your ministry, so I thank you anyway, much love to you, God bless you and keep my little sister safe from the enemy.. As of today I am officially your much older brother in Christ Jesus.
