Tom and Phil was such a great musical coupling. This is the Phil I remember...great lines and energy galore. Tom is one of my all time favorite trumpeters....This man can turn a motif like nobody's business. Bite and lyrical ability!
Tune written by Joe Roccisano, who wrote the original for the Pete Christlieb and Warne Marsh Quintet, which was released in 1978 on the album "Apogee". The album was produced by Donald Fagen and Walter Becker (of Steely Dan).
I was lucky to see them live at the Wichita Jazz Festival in 1984 85 Amazing live. Truly mind blowing!
