@ we use 10in culvert piping and putt a square skimmer lid on to match when we pour. 18 is real big. You might to get creative on that one. Maybe pour a stone lid with a cut out for the skimmer and set on on top and pour the patio cover that with the skimmer lid in place

@@jonport_ thanks I’m in Florida I have a fiberglass pool also installed 08. I think they forgot to install it I need to paint or gel coat it it chalks up like milk when I brush it. Any suggestions thanks in advance.
@mycatmycat3786 yeah it really needs one. Yep, sounds like you need to get it re-coded possibly talk to the manufacturer to have them re coat and i’d make sure whoever does it if you do that, go extra steps to leave the groundwater around the pool and make sure everything is done correctly, according to the manufacturer guidelines. Could always test the water table as well to see where it’s at
@@jonport_ manufacturer out of business. So on my own I am in home remodeling so very handy I don’t want it to pop up when I empty it and sand and redo I do have a lake about 250 yard east of us. Should I install something similar to your black pipe or a well point be enough. I’m assuming the black pipe is that size so you can stick a sump pump in and drain if needed. Thanks.
@@mycatmycat3786 if you feel confident that you can catch the groundwater around the pool, I would do that. If not, I know Florida builders will punch 10 to 15 different holes around the pool project with special pumps and drain the water for a few days before they start the project so you would have to look into that. We don’t have to do that here.
30+ years in the pool game. You forgot the gaskets and those vinyl liner skimmers are not made to have the pool wall in between the liner and skimmer and face plate sandwitch.
