i cannot get my new screen to work- not sure if its that the connector is not holding tightly in place...i have even put the old screen back on and that one with the cracked screen is also not working...thank you for the close up on how the connector is supposed to sit on the 'bar' thing...whatever its called...i hope it works now
I have the same laptop. My screen is not cracked or broken its just having some kind of display issue and its solid white. I checked to make sure everything was connected right and it seems to be. Any idea of what can be causing this?
@@timmc8444 difference is screen connector on your motherboard always have 19v on it either from the charger or the battery . so not disconnecting the battery while reconnect the lcd cable in the back on your new screen risking short to ground , it happened to me and i'm computer tecg for over 20 years of experience and it shorted out the motherboard , i fixed it but not worth the risk . when you are doing anything inside any motherboard weather tv , phone , laptop , computer , all power has to be off . leaving battery inside connected is asking for motherboard damaged , you were just lucky
By far the hardest part of this process is that damn connector tape. They certainly used the good stuff. Thanks for sharing!!
Glad you were able to fix it!

Probably the screen is bad due to the board attached or you need to unplug and plug the cable back in.
Do you think it would be possible even via a third party bet like an ips screen or even oled and in a lot higher resolution
you have to disconnect the battery first before replacing the screen , too much risk to replace screen while battery still connected
I have read conflicting things on this...as long as the power is off whats the difference?
