Amazing! We’ll be in your beautiful Country Christmas through New Years. So excited! We’ll be in Rome New Years Eve! What should we do first? Thank you for the walking tours. Live in Alabama and first time traveling to Europe. Vatican would be wonderful to visit, but know wouldn’t be able to get tickets if required. Merry Christmas and looking fwd to more.💫🌟❤️🎄🛬🚄🎊
You asked what you should do first in Rome? Look for a historical monument close to you, go there, have some lunch or dinner, take pictures/videos, facetime with your family and friends back home and eat some gelato if the weather is not too cold for you. And the entrance to St. Peter's basilica is free.
The mass in celebration is in Filipino language. It is called the "Simbang Gabi" which is a dawn mass in the Philippines. This is celebrated for nine days leading to Christmas Day.
There is a church in Manila I attended, early morning -- back in the 80's. It was so crowded with devotees. I was in awe and still am. I cannot remember the name of the Church. Would you have an idea of the name and location in Manila?
@@maryreyes368 Hi, I think you might be referring to the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of the Black Nazarene, popularly known as Quiapo Church in Manila
It's the most wonderful and beautiful place in the world where God and his wisdom are being presented everyday. Thank you for sharing the video in the most wonderful time of the year. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
Back in my days, any one could walk in the Basilica, without the need to be checked, get close to la pieta, without a protective screen, indeed any one could walk any time during the day, in any of the magnificent churches in the capital. Sadly, that is no possible anymore, as maniacs from outside Italy, hellbent on destroying our heritage, forced many churches to open only at certain times.
You had to wait in that long line? Bless you! The nativity was so beautiful!!! I love that the wood from the tree is used. The pietà is my favorite sculpture. The Bacillica is such a gorgeous place. So much to see. Thank you for sharing this special video at this special time of year.❤🥰 The organ was magnificent! So lovely.😊

Kota Medan, Indonesia diguyur hujan nonstop satu hari sebelum dan waktu malam perayaan natal. Selamat hari natal 2023 untuk semua sahabat di vatican city.
A very good job. I especially like the good shot of the Chapel of the Transfiguration. This is the chapel where English Masses are said every day early in the morning before the tourists come. In 2000 I went to early Mass and I went into the sacristy to find out where the English Masses were said. The sacristan pointed out the priests and I walked alongside him to the altar. He invited me to read the Epistle that day. It is one of the highlights of my life. Seeing it again is very emotional for me.
How much wealth!!! Nothing to do with the poverty and the humility of Jesus'birth, in a stable, He said :" No one can serve two masters, because he will hate the one and love the other...You cannot serve God and wealth"...(Matthew 6:24)... God, also commanded:" Each one of you speak truth with your neighbor..."(Ephesinians 4:25)...but Jesus wasn't born december 25th..
Thank you for this magnificent video! I plan to watch it again. I can’t believe that Roman people can go to the Vatican whenever they want. Seems incredible, but probably get used to it if you grow up around it. Who was the saint depicted in the statue at 29:30? So many people have put in a lot of time & work to make the nativity scenes, and they look great! The Pieta 😊, everything is so special- thank you for sharing the beauty with everyone via your videos!❤🙏
The statue is St. Giuliana falconieri. She's the founder of the Religious Sisters of the Third Order of the Servites. She died in 1341 and the image of a cross was found on her breast.
@@AmazingWalkingTour Thank you, I didn’t realize that was St. Guiliana Falconieri. Unfortunately she is not well known in the US. I know of her briefly because I believe she was martyred with St. Barbara, and I’ve visited the Santa Barbara mission in Southern CA. I am so surprised her statue is so prominent in the church. These statues are so life like. What an incredible skill these artists had.
Each painting on the roof, each sculpture, each work of art...one can & must spend hours to oppreciate it; magnificent, indeed. So incredibly imposing, those massive pillars, flooring, monuments. .....impossible to imbibe all that they deserve. Michaelangelo's artistry brings tears to my eyes. I got fatiigued after few hours,, i sorrowfully exited the Baselica....I hope I can visit this place again. Thank you so much.

Many thanks to you for the beautiful description of the Basilica. Merry Christmas 🎄
These people in the line take part in the Pope’s audience, which takes place every Wednesday.
The video was recorded on Sunday not Wednesday.
@@AmazingWalkingTour so there must have been a Pope’s celebration, because the entrance for the public is only from that side when the Pope uses the square or the church.
It was recorded around 1 pm after the Angelus
@@AmazingWalkingTour the Angelus implies the Pope’s participiation
Yes, the Pope recites the Angelus prayer to the masses every Sunday at 12 pm
How long it was the wait on the line to get into the basilica?
It depends on the day of the week. The waiting can last an hour on Sundays.
Il vaticano ha riciclato spelacchio? lol
