If you're a fan, you trip out like "Where has Busenitz been?" but dude is living his best life with his family, skating everyday still, collecting his Adidas and Real checks($$), while not having to trip out about video parts or photo shoots. What a boss.

I was in high school when his shoe came out and thought that it was awesome.
Now 15 years later me working as a teacher, married with 2 kids and skating whenever I can, I still think its awesome. Congratulations Mr. Busenitz happy 15 spins around the sun.

I used to be somewhat of a good skateboarder.
In 1996 some friends and I traveled from Texas to Kansas to skate.
And we got to witness a young Dennis Busenitz at the skatepark downtown, he was like 13-14 with braces and he was ABSOLUTELY KILLING IT.
He wore a helmet the entire time.
    It sounds crazy.
But it happened, I’m for real.

Just tried on his original shoe at Adidas store the other day. Wow I was surprised at how grippy and ready to do business that sole is. Even tho it had the loudest radioactive orange accent color I had to have them. I'll be starting skating again after 20 year hiatus.

I'm out of shape and don't skate anymore...but when I did, it was always the Adidas Busenitz. Man, Busenitz is still my all-time favorite skater. For some reason, he reminded me of the singer from the Walkmen (Hamilton Leithauser) here...they have a similar no-nonsense, yet humble vibe...the best!!!

My favourite shoe. First reason, the copa mundial and world cup boots have been a big part of my life for at least 40 years. Second reason, the sole around the toe is soft and the height is shallow, this means you stand less chance of rolling your ankle when compared to the shoes that have a hard, thick, wide, side wall. You imagine a cube and tipping it over, there's a tipping point where the hard edge suddenly just flips it over to adjacent surface. The same happens to your foot in a shoe with a wide hard edge to the sole, it suddenly just flips, rolls and strains or tears the ligaments when the shoe reaches that tipping point, a soft thinner edge has time to come back and not roll your ankle.

I hope they never stop making his shoe. I buy 2 pairs every year. I need to get my hands on the 15th anniversary Busneitz indoor super those things are sick and they seem to be going up in price crazy fast. Do yourself a favor buy a pair and hold on to them cause I think they will be worth a LOT in only a couple of years time.

If someone started skating after that game and have continued to today they are definitely a skater. (although very surprising if they haven't seen it until this interview).
