    Thanks for sharing your experience! How long did you do immersion classes at the academy and how would you describe your level of spanish before and after? Did you travel to other parts of Guatemala on weekends?

      I studied Spanish here two separate times. First time was for 6 weeks. Second time was for two weeks. Both times my Spanish skills grew immensely! The one on one teaching style along with speaking Spanish only at your home stay really push your skills. I would say I was much more confident and fluent after taking these classes! And yes, i was able to travel to other areas in Guatemala, but there is a ton to do and see around Antigua also!

    I have been looking for schools in Costa Rica and Mexico and the states, I have family in Costa Rica and they don’t speak English,
    But the cost for all the schools that I have looked into are double the cost from what I have seen in this school, 6 weeks seems like a good time span to really get a good foundation, would love to do 6 weeks at least twice a year,

      This spot is the most affordable fastest way to learn Spanish in my opinion

      I would love to learn more about what 6 weeks provided in your experience, also this sounds like one on one mostly so specific attention would go much further, I think I was looking at around $4500 US dollar to do 5 weeks on average for other schools,

      You can live and learn comfortably here for $500 a week all inclusive including housing and food. One on one instruction only. Opportunities to practice Spanish with your host family every day at mealtime. The school will also take you on free field trips. You will become much more fluent here in 6 weeks. I recommend it!

      I can’t remember the name of the home stay. I scheduled it directly with the school. The extra money for the upgraded room is worth it!

    Hi there I visited Antigua back in 2016 and at that time I told my self I’m coming back to Guatemala to study Spanish, which school do you recommend? And what type of housing do you recommend?

    • @ryanhablitzel
      @ryanhablitzel  Год назад +4

      I recommend the Antigua Spanish Academy. It is the best! You can book a homestay directly through the school which will place you with a local family who will cook your meals and converse with you in Spanish at the table. I recommend paying a bit more for the upgraded room as the houses tend to be a bit nicer.

    Doesn't this school rent rooms, too?

    • @ryanhablitzel

      Yes, they have a “homestay” option where you have a room and food provided in a local families home.
