Sometimes it's what is missing that makes a successful video. No whining, no irrelevant excursions into his private life, no gear nerdery, no obsession with craft beers and extortionate dehydrated meals (evviva Ginsters!), no gratuitous and unsolicited tips, a reluctance to use the demonstrative adjective "those" properly (just kidding, it's one of them things), no obsession with camp comfort, no fixation on the bike. The ride is at the centre of everything and Josh, in his modest way, comes over as one tough dude.
Yes I agree, that's why we all love Josh. He's a genuine down to earth person and keeps it simple and real.👍
Perfect summary!
@@scottjones9362 Thanks! That feels like the only praise I've received in a long time.
I’ve never seen anyone eat a raw pepper like that! Makes a change I’m sure, but can’t say l fancy it quite. Keep wheelin..and still loving your vids.
Raw pepper is delicious
My favourite RUclipsr at the minute 👌🏼 I’ve just bought literally every item I need to do a bikepacking trip I just need the weather to get a bit better now
Maximum respect for riding Wales in this weather Josh. Looks like you really enjoyed it. Love the content as always. Top man 😁👍🏼
Working week is done, relax with cold beer and tune into the best cycling channel available...cheers Josh...peace.
Love Wales, beautiful, yet brutal landscape.
Nice video again. As an American, I don’t think of Great Britain having wide open spaces like we have in Kansas, Nebraska, eastern Colorado, etc--but some of your shots sure remind me of those places. Thanks for posting.
One thing I'm jealous about, the trails and landscape. And the fact the wilds are open to everyone.
We have something like 2% public land.
1 tof the things America has gotten right
Filming gets better and better. Just great!
Thanks! I dowloaded gpx and made a trip for me and my buddies. They live in Bournemouth and I am Salisbury. Will save it for the summer though! Great channel. Just a small donation to say thanks and keep up the good work!
Wales never Fails !
Beautiful 👌
Josh, your ride spirit is fantastic !
Great Video.👍 massive respect for doing that ride solo 👏
Love your video's - thank you 👍
this is my favorite ! iv done it loads and you never get bored with this one. thank you bro, you da man
Another great adventure Josh 👍
Out in my neck of the woods! Stunning vid Mate. 👍
Currently training to ride LEJOG and the motivation to ride tonight was low - thanks for fixing that! Great video as always
Good luck 🚵♂️
I rode 'The Gap' a few years back but in the opposite direction to you in the snow and there was a lot of hike a bike, nice video
Wales never fails to give great views, even when it’s foggy. The brecons are stunning for many reasons. Great video and I agree about when you’ve found a good camp spot, just stop. Had many a regret from not stopping and camping on rough ground over the years after passing great ground
It’s the Beacons not the Brecons. Brecon is just very lucky to have the Beautiful Beacons on our doorstop. Nothing to do with Merthyr which has a rich history all of its own
Awesome ! well done buddy :)
Great video - so glad I found this channel. I ride in the Beacons as much as I can and would love to give this route a try - I’ve been resisting an MTB and only joust got s gravel bike (a lifelong roadie/Tt’er) but this has got me wondering…!! Fab videos!
Loving that video dude.
Amazing adventure! Just wondering... what time of year did you choose? And would you not avoid frontal prevailing winds when done from South to North? Cheers, and keep up the inspiring content!
I thought I was the only one who pushes……..😊😎👍
Great video. Can I ask what jacket you have?
I have a few questions if that's OK
1.What shorts are you wearing, or would you recommend?
2. Is that a Patagonia H20 top that you're wearing?
3.What shoes are you wearing? Assuming they're SPD as you ride an MTB?
Cheers 😊👍
👀 Looks bloomin' ace there BTW 👌👌👌
Ha ha, good one Josh. It’s spelled “ca-bah-no-sy” - Polish delicacy
Welldone Josh, Wales never dissapoints, it is a beautiful country. Are you still sleeping on the cold ground or have you seen sense and got a nice warm mat to lay on now:)?
Still on the ground, plenty warm enough though. 😀
@@KeepSmilingAdventures Haaha welldone, if it works for you thats good enough as for me I'm a whimp, I need some insulation:)
A pepper?! Very healthy I suppose.
Lovely tour, can I ask which sleeping bag and roll matt you're using?
No sleeping matt i don't use one, and the alpkit pipedream 400
Great video, what sleep system are you using at this time of year. Surely not the amazon summer bag in the gear video 😳
Nah my winter bag is the alpkit pipedream 400, and I typically sleep in a down jacket as well but thats all that really changes
Notice you don't have front suspension. Would it be a better set up for this?
Could you please upload the Komoot route?
Will be up with the before you ride video
What handle bar are you using?
Its the jones h bar, link in the description
Thanks so much 🙏
Do you have a strava account that I can follow?
Yep, link in video description 👍
Llan......Vrunach........Llanfrynach.........one F is pronounced V.......two FF’s is pronounced F
Funny how we laugh at the Americans for their pronunciation of British place names...
Enjoyed the video but just to let you know, there’s no such place as the “Brecons”, doesn’t exist. They’re the Brecon Beacons or “The Beacons” for short. Speaking as a local, these things matter. Thanks
Not my route, I didn't name it and there is literally a town called brecon. These things really don't matter.
Great channel 👍
Oh brilliant. Watch this later Josh. Great weather now.
Loved it Josh. one we thing that would be cool is to know where you are on a Strava Map. I tried to work it out, a few confusing bits. I've ridden most of that ## years ago lol. Still have no idea how to manage with basically no winter kit. You must have antifreeze for blood man
