To be invited on stage is one thing. To be given a guitar from Edge is another. Not to play just one song, but two with this band. The band seemed to really understand this gal has talent. She seemed so comfortable on that stage. For the band to applaud her efforts after is priceless.
I was just going to say that (the band applauds her after) that's special ! I found myself applauding too afterwards, even as this happened years ago and nowhere near the live stage; but surviving COVID in 2022. Bless.
@@photoshopskillz3041 Stephanie was training and became a nurse in eastern Canada, so she's probably been on the front lines the past two years. I hope she is doing okay.
Stephanie had got talent and confidence and seems a natural on stage, you go girl and remember this is real do you might want to pinch yourself to make sure your not dreaming.
This was truly amazing. As a guitar player and a U2 fan for over 40 years I can’t imagine being asked to play on stage with them. I had the privilege of meeting the band back in 2002 in Dublin and that was the best day of my life. I can’t imagine being asked to play on stage with them. I would be in heaven. She was calm and collected and she nailed it. Way to go Stephanie!!!
WOW one of he best 15 minutes I'll never get back, and proud of it, thank you Bono for leaving her that lifetime memory, and making us all feel like we were her.
I guess Im asking randomly but does someone know a way to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot the password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
I have so much respect for Stephanie that she was able to get up and play two songs in front of an enormous crowd of people on somebody else's guitar it's simply incredible to see and to keep in tune. I take my cap off to her
She absolutely nailed 2 of my all time favourite songs, not a shred of nerves. Fantastic playing. You could tell they were blown away by her. Probably the best rendition by a fan ever. Loved every second of it.
She killed it, then at the end when Bono sings to her, the emotions take over as she realises WTF just happened. It's a beautiful world when your rock star heroes would do this for you. Lucky (and talented) girl.
Bono just plain makes people happy and special How can you not love this man with a beautiful heart and soul Good on ya young lady! You banged out some great tunes!
I'm a fan of U2. Watching this just makes you appreciate the band more. Bringing up a fan on stage playing 2 songs is amazing! #Memoriesforlife #U2Classact
if you're sad or angry with someone/everyone/something/everything/the world/yourself... this video will take you out of it and bring you instant joy and make you think the world still is a beautiful place full of music and beautiful people. Rattle and Hum. Wow. Pundits penned that U2 had reached their peak in 1987 and could do nothing more to top Joshua Tree. I recall reading a Rolling Stone interview in DFW airport and thinking, NO, NO! U2 has much more to give us. Then came Rattle and Hum. This song always gets me choked up as the outro to an exceptional album. Then came Achtung Baby and Zooropa and a plethora of insatiable U2 offerings. What a GREAT video to connect with fans........we sit in the shadows learning your music and wish upon a star to play with you. Stephanie did and her universe was complete!
yeah Stephanie ! when I was a teenager I dreamed of what you dit on stage with U2 but when I was younger I did not play guitar so ... now I can play this sont, I'm older, but dont go to U2 gigs... and dont think I could play guitar on stage with them, in my home it's ok but with the band... I'd be not so comfortable as you seem to be :) you're the best fan I saw on stage with U2. You're you. And respect the band.
She owned it from the moment she walked on stage. What an incredible experience for Stephanie and everyone in the audience. U2 has done this often and it's amazing every time. They really connect with their fans on another level. Even if you aren't lucky enough to get on stage, you FEEL that connection to the band when you're there. For that matter even when you watch videos, like this one.
And I truly hope people who see this realise how great she played. You actually cannot hear a damn thing when you're on stage playing as she didn't have an IEM nor monitors. Hence she had to watch the Edge, lead and follow, anticipate and react. The band probably gave her some slack and followed her somewhat, however she earned this. She is really great.
Having a U2 binge and this came up, made me smile ... Stephanie more than rocked it. To think almost 4 years ago. Wonder what she is doing now? U2 almost had a 5th band member!
Such an amazingly awesome and humbling moment to watch! Wow! I mean WOW! She rocked this!! It's nice to see how music really brings people together. Thank you for sharing!
What I love most about this and why it's so powerful, is that she demands respect, not to considered as something to be looked at, but for someone who is skilled as a guitarist and part of the gang. Brilliant.
How cool...!! His Dad was one of my coaches...and one of the great early influencers in my life MANY years ago. I also remember his older brother, Darrell, who was about 2 or 3 running around on the field as we practiced. He only grew up to be a very good Offensive Coordinator in the NFL. Pretty talented family. Blessings...!!
My God, I can't feel my arms just watching, I'd lose ground underneath with these guys on stage. Not to mention All I want is you is absolutely my favorite. Brilliant. When The Edge does that intro my eyes become wet. Still. Some 30 years later.
I came across this video several days after my mother passed away. For purposes of context, I can tell you that I've been very fortunate, in that, to this point, I've led a life that has been both professionally and personally rewarding. I have financial security and a robust network of family, friends and colleagues. And it isn't my intention to say this gratuitously, or in any kind of self-congratulatory way. I realize many individuals are dealing with situations more challenging in some respects, and I recognize that and empathize. However... at times I have not dealt with events and circumstances in a particularly constructive way. At times, quite frankly, my behavior has been self-destructive. I lost four of the best friends I've ever had in a 9-year time span. All of their deaths unexpected. All 35 or younger. After the death of my friend who was the last one in that sequence, I more or less went into the proverbial abyss. I abused alcohol, adderrall, and some other substances, in copious amounts. Always in binge fashion... I'd go on 3, 4, 5, 6 day benders. Crash for 2-3 days. And a week or two later, repeat. Eventually I got past it, and was able to refocus and recommit to things we all know are important. But when my mother died, some of those same self-abusive motivations and desires started welling up in me, in robust fashion. I'd actually acquired the same substances, and was prepared to binge. I'd already started. Still early in the process. Then I came across this video. My release of emotions wasn't immediate. But when they came, they came with tornado-like intensity. At least that's what it felt like. I watched the "All I Want is You" segment over and over and over. I was hypnotized by Stephanie and how astonishingly beautiful the moment was, the circumstances were... her talent and composure. Every aspect of the video just helped me get out things I needed to get out. And later, those substances I'd acquired...I threw them in the trash. Stephanie, I don't know who you are. I doubt we will ever meet. But the gift you shared on that stage not only helped a stranger deal with the most psychologically and emotionally traumatic event he'd ever experienced... your gift may very well have even saved his life. And his... my... love and gratitude can't adequately be expressed. Thank you all for taking the time to read this. God bless.
