Whole lotta lovin' off of their FORE! Album. Underrated song. Unique throwback to when Country and Rock were close together. Think Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash and Elvis era. Great song, acapella opening, you can hear the bass singing keyboard player throughout the whole song, harmonica solo and, great guitar. Not enough bass singers anymore. When you listen to it you can't make up your mind if it's a rock song or a country song, maybe it's kind of bluesy too. Huey Lewis and the News are a real band, they sing that song just as good live as they do on the recording. Love those guys, miss em' something awful.
Didn't even mention their album FORE!. FORE! was almost as big as Sports. Man I miss those guys. Still singing 2 or 3 a capella songs every show up until they had to stop touring. Wonderful voices. For some reason, Mario, the original bass player showed up to a show here in Michigan several years ago. It was a non smoking venue but he joined the band for a several song encore and lit up a smoke anyway. What a great show. Huey Lewis and the News with Don Felder. I'll never forget it.
Huey will always be among my all time favorites. I was fortunate to see them live 20 or so years ago, and it still sticks out in my mind as one of the best concerts I've ever attended. These days I chuckle when listening to their hit Workin' For a Livin' because of the line "hundred dollar car note, two hundred rent" because of obvious reasons. 😆
I didn't get to see them until early 2000s. But I saw them several times after that. They always put so much energy into every show I saw. I wish they could do it just one more time. They were great !
Great story. Huey Lewis and the News is my favorite band of all time and deserve to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I do need to correct this story though. Picture This was the second album and opened up touring opportunites for HLN. Also, the introduction of MTV and the MUSIC VIDEO helped to vault HLN to superstrardom. The story discussed SPORTS being followed by Small World. SPORTS was followed by FORE! Hip to be Square was on the FORE! album. Both albums were huge Multi Platinum sellers. It was following FORE! that Small World was released, followed by Hard at Play and then Plan B. During this time HLN continued to tour and drew their loyal fans at numerous concert venues, mostly smaller capacity theatres which were great.
Huey Lewis (Bluesy Huey Lewis) also performed with Thin Lizzy on their 1978 album 'Live and Dangerous'. This live album and Thin Lizzy are fantastic and so underrated.
Between Sports and Small World was Fore.... That Album was also a big hit, selling multi-platinum. This video completely forgets about that album. Do your homework.
The video footage does not match the chronology of events, left out lots of stuff, and as far as sucide, seriously he can still get easily laid where ever he goes even at his age.
@@jenh9426 That’s absolute bs lmao. Ghostbusters were using the song I want a new drug before ray parker’s song, then when HLN said no to ghostbusters using New Drug, ray parker made the ghostbusters song which is an obvious copy.
What's your favorite song from Huey Lewis and the News?

Indeed, major omission re FORE.
Performers can smoke in non smoking venues.
Sports and dancing on the ceiling were the first albums I got as a gift. Sports is a greatest hits album.

Huey I Love your Music Thank you for the Music praying for your gaining all your hearing be restored
Huey’s biggest secret: it was all just the power of love. M
He always is honest in interviews.
I loved them in the 80s I thought they could really rock!
Who didn't like Huey Lewis and the News!! Good old days!!😊👍
Please, Patrick Bateman explained this 35 years ago
😆😆
Bro... 😆😂
No way it was like 25 years max
I didn't get to see them until early 2000s. But I saw them several times after that. They always put so much energy into every show I saw. I wish they could do it just one more time. They were great !
I've seen Huey Lewis and The News over 100 times live- I dreamed of retiring and following them on tour like the Grateful Dead
Saw Clover in Sebastopol every Saturday night at Uncle Sam's. I was 15ish! Good lookin little girls got in free!
Great group, great fun!
I called cues for The Huey Lewis show in Las Vegas in the year 2000. They were great to work with!
ya like huey lewis and the news
He took the waves by storm with Heart of rock n roll!
That my second song "Heart of Rock N Roll!

Huey and alike made America Great ! lets make it Great Again. But this time, lets give thanks to God and pray for all Artist .
Love the band hope he's ok.

Hard to watch without their music being included
Huet and the News is my all time favorite group!
That the power of love
Was it me or did I happen to miss the Fore album during the chronology??
Mario Cipollina’s name was terribly mispronounced.
Such a great band!
Nice, very impressive. Let's see Paul Allen's video
Best know for Power of love and Heart of Rock and Roll.
Love y'all 💞♥️🥰👍👏🥂😄😄😄
Well, this is old news.
The first album was great!
Hold it fellas...
I’m afraid you’re too damn loud
If you listen to Huey's part in the "We Are The World" song, you can see Michael Jackson was not impressed by his singing.
You failed to mention Mario the bass players arrest and incarnation for drugs.
Why permit inclusion of your band in the movie but not on it's soundtrack? I don't understand... why?
what?
Why did you forget Fore??? It was highly popular
It's when the band started going downhill.
❤✌

Mutt lange is such a bad ass!!!!😅

Hes a retiree now! With money!
Insert Patrick Bateman quote here:
Uhh... your wrong Parker sued Lewis first.
Huey Lewis submitted a copy of the song to the Ghostbusters folks before the "iconic" tune was made later... Hmmm
um no, as ray parker tells it he was told to write a bar band song..just so happens it sounds just like I want a new drug..
@@jenh9426 That’s absolute bs lmao. Ghostbusters were using the song I want a new drug before ray parker’s song, then when HLN said no to ghostbusters using New Drug, ray parker made the ghostbusters song which is an obvious copy.
Herein lies the issue with RUclips.
Poorly researched, incorrect pronunciation, and jumps all over the place.
