JOTHIDAM = Sothidam, it's Tamil Word, the word gives meaning, The SUN's Position. "SOTHI IDAM"
SOTHI referring to SUN, IDAM means = PLACE. IDAM here is referring to the Sun's Position on Vernal, equinox (1st Chiththirai), Summer Solstice (1st Aadi), autumnal equinox (1st Aippasi) & winter Solstice (1st Thai). It was invented/discovered to understand the seasons for agricultural purpose.
