  • Doing this when it isn’t needed can break your saw; not doing it when it IS needed can also break your saw. If you’ve ever considered why some people pull the rope on their chainsaw when turning it off, and whether or not you should, I will tell you the mechanical reasons and explain how to know if you should do it to YOUR saw when you shut it off.
