    Thank you for this instructional and well detailed video with those close ups. Best part is no talking, no comedy and no look at me. What sort of machine are you using? It seems to have the clutch type worked with the knee. Where can I get one here in Florida... and your thread supplier would be helpful. Thanks again for the pleasant viewing video. Beautiful job too.

      Dear Greg,Thanks so much for appreciating this art craft!
      The most important of this video is not the shift boot but the technique to hand sew the open seams. It could be used to close sunvisor's open bottom seams and other upholstery items.
      Don't miss next video where I will show a faster method to do the same. Only, using the sewing machine.

    yo hice uno de esos una vez y a todo le puse doble sobre costura menos a la ultima porque el material ya no entraba por la maquina. y haci lo deje, el cliente entendio que no se podia, pero ahora veo cual es el truco. Gracias Maestro

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  5 лет назад +4

      Este método artesanal es un poco laborioso pero funciona. Creo que lo mas importante de ese video no es hacer la capucha esa, sino la práctica de la costura ciega a mano que puede usarse en otros trabajos como para las viseras/soleras/parasoles, etc.
      En el siguiente video relacionado que a lo mejor se publica mañana, mostraremos un método mas práctico y facil para hacer la cuarta costura doble. El truco es haciéndolo solamente con la máquina de coser.

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  2 года назад +1

      I cannot recommend a special brand. Well known trade marks are: Consew, Juki, Pfaff, Adler, Brother. Singer, etc.
      The best is to get a 'walking foot' sewing machine that could be double or triple transport .
      John Pollock from Lucky Needle Upholstery Website highlights an interesting article about the sewing machines. He also has interesting courses for sale to learn car upholstery.

      Estimado Gregorio, El hilo que uso en esta demostración es el hilo estandar de polyester para tapicería. Aquí en Mexico es el númerpo 8. Corresponde al 92 (medida americana)www.thethreadexchange.com/miva/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=polyester-thread-092

    I'm confused. Why did you have to hand sew the final edge? Why not use the machine like you did on the other 3 corners?

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  4 года назад +1

      I would have done the fourth closing sewing but it would have been almost impossible to do the complete double stitches on top view. It is very difficult to maneuver the sewing machine on the cone end.
      This is another option:ruclips.net/video/3ZaFSzZH9jQ/видео.html

    I'm so lazy I would probably just not top stitch that side!

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  5 лет назад

      I decided to do it due to in a car upholstery forum a car trimmer asked for opinions on how a 4 french seams shift boot design (picture shown) would be approached. As we can see in the video I recalled an old artisan way to close the open edges, but it really requires some patience. I also was used to do it the way you say in your comment.
      Anyways, in next video I will show a faster way to close the open lips by only using the sewing machine.
      Thanks so much for watching this video!
