I never understand why this song is so underated. Always was one of my favourites.
The last half of the song was done in the 80s techno style....that is what ruins it.
My favorite track from this album. It’s incredible and a drummer’s sort of song.
@@dannyh8288 Yeah, it goes disco for a minute... but still somehow sounds like Zeppelin.
It goes on repeat many times over on those Saturday afternoon sessions. Love it
I love this song. One of their best songs and a glimpse into the future of what Zeppelin was going to become.
Always loved that half-time breakdown in the middle of the song, some of my favorite stuff Zep ever wrote.
My favorite part of the whole song. I could honestly listen to them playing that for the whole track lol.
Yes same here. It hooked me like a fish, the way only Zeppelin really can do. That hook is over 40 years old and still set deep.
I love that part too, the drums and guitar sound is wonderful
It is definitely a song that grows on one over time. It bears less resemblance to Led Zeppelin and more to early Plant solo material. Only Bonham's drumming really underscores the Zeppelinness of it. The isolated drum tracks from those sessions are a true delight to listen to, full of Bonzo growls and whatnot. For your first run through on it you really nailed It!
BronYrAur26 grows on you over time? I loved it right away back in the seventies LOL
Bonham had so much more talent and imagination then other drummers it's freaking unreal what he accomplished.
The prog side of Zepp. Love playing this particular song. Great job Terry
Thank you Ryan!
I can only give props to this drummer who expertly performed this complex drum solo.
Next up Achilles Last Stand... Presence easily Bonham's best drumwork💯
Terry...you f'ing NAIL this one :-)
You killed this… I love this song… but you made me appreciate it all the more
So great to see RUclipsrs charmingly and winningly being themselves, ESPECIALLY when they can kick some serious ass on the drumkit! Great job honoring the spirit and style of the Immortal Bonzo--even shouting while you play, lol!
Love this, it was one of my favs growing up in the 80’s. I had the cassette tape of this album. So under rated! 🙌🏼😉❤️
Still have the cassette.
This is a delicatessen! Keep on rockin!
Very entertaining fellow here. One of my fave songs to jam along on the drums to.
Dude, that was awesome
Great work Terry! The fill around 13:07 may be my favorite JB fill ever! All meat no filler! ✌🏼
“Wah, wah, wah!”....hilarious, great job!
Great as always!!!!! Thanks for the positive vibe on drums, It makes me want to practice!!!!
Thank you JR!
I got into this tune off a 8 track tape I ganked from my big brother...I remember thinking...what weird song. But I loved it. At the end of this song I still think of having to get up & go hit the channel button on the 8 track player so I could hear the song again. lol
This is just an awesome song, my favorite from ITTOD. Has lots of keyboards and synthesizers, but the foundation, the underlying theme really rocks out with awesome drums (as just demonstrated) and great guitar and bass work. Truly EPIC!
Haha that Miami Vice breakdown towards the end is always the greatest thing ever!
Very cool. Great job. That song is a monster start to finish. My favorite to play along with. Thanks for the vid...
Rock on, Danny!
You killed it
“I’d call it an F+.”
That line and this great video made my Saturday - thanks Terry!
Thanks JB!
Very well played, congrats from Brazil!
Dude. You are a drum God. No fucking shit........you are THAT GOOD! Thank you for these videos!
You nailed it Terri
Awesome.... Love all your videos, I have learned a lot from your teachings... Johnny G.
hahahahaaa dude I love your videos, you nailed it and the vistalites sound killer.. keep on drumming
You have the fury of Keith Moon as well as the impeccable timing of Bonzo mate. Well done.
Thank you, KoBM!
CCAROUSELAMBRA) might be my favourite Led Zeppelin song.
‘I’m not a truthstretcher!’ The way you delivered that line made my day. Great drumming btw.
My
As usual great job .
Thanks James!
I used to try to play along in 81 on my Majestic 4 pc drumset when i was 16.....GOOD JOB
Bravo Sir!!!When I first bought ITTOD the most played track for me was 'All My Love' which follows this I believe on the album so I would always hear the last few bars before I put the needle correctly on the beginning of 'AML'.It was always the track I like least on the album ..but now I can finally appreciate it for what it is! A freakin' masterpiece!!Great Job as always Tel'
Awesome job Terry. ..from one drum head to another...
Thank you 12!
Bad Ass Rock Star From His Drum Pit.
Well done! 👍👏
unbelievable!
You are hilarious!! Thank you for your knowledge on the King!
Great playing for 1st time
Everything Zep does is great, but I always thought this song and album were hugely neglected. Good tutorial-- you visually help guide players through some of the trickier spots, and you make it fun.
That was awesome man very good job
Thanks Jerrod!
Love you enthusiasm bud.
You're a great drummer and a funny, a little wacky and entertaining guy.
Loved it
That was a damn good effort for not having practiced the song any! Blistering! I even did a video recently trying to tell people to give In Through the Out Door a chance. I wasn't particularly impressed with it when I got it years ago (as I was building my cassette collection of Led Zeppelin lol) but after a listen recently I was like DAMN THAT ALBUM IS REALLY COOL!
Love your vids bro💯
Exce,it’s all in the groove
arguably the weirdest zeppelin tune makes it even better
Very well done
This song is a beast... Under rated.
That was bad ass thank you
This was amazing thank you
Thanks CS!
Zeppelin has always been my favorite band , we had 2nd row seats at the Pontiac Silverdome in 1977, of all the music they did the only one that I didn't care for was Cuda . Four sticks, the battle of evermore, how many more times my 3 favorites
Brilliant!
Thank you JJ!
Thanks! for recording your 1st time. It helps me to see that no matter how good you are mistakes still happen.
Absolutely ! Like anything, you have to get in the groove/mode/mindset.
The love is real.
SENTI FIRMEZA, ESSE TON É IGUAL O DE BONHAM. GOSTEI DA VIBRAÇÃO TOCANDO ESSE ÉPICO, FANTÁSTICO.
Nice as always Terry! I personally dig this tune!
Thank you, Dave! Are you keeping our Bluecrolite honest?
bonzoleum absolutely!
This dude has such a crazy energy but I love it.
Thank you, TG!!
Nailed it
Thank you, ZF! I appreciate it!
Wow. That's probably the hardest song in the oeuvre, and you make it look like a jaunt in the park.
I've tried to get in shape-one of the Bonhamites commented in another video that I was playing better after doing the Kashmir Led Zep tribute gigs. There's so much truth the addage that gigging makes you better. If you've seen Derek's Kick It Like Bonham videos since he's bee the regular drummer of that West coast Zep tribute, he's taken his playing to another level!
😮 whoa terry you kicked ass 👍
Thanks T!
Man , you are f’kin brilliant ......drums and your patter .....I could watch you talkin about Bonzo all night .... but I can’t .....I have to work in the morning !Wish I could play the wAy you do ..I bought a 2nd hand set of drums just to try to learn to play ....after i.dont know how many years I procrastinated ...but now I have room to keep a set ...and my kids love to try too.....Kudos man ....
Thank you , T-keep playing 'em!!
i think hes very good......great drummer...........great song
The only Zep or Zep related albums I bought when they were first released were Encomium and Coverdale - Page. Born too late. Dammit. When i got into Zep in the 90's, i too was put off by all the keyboards in the ITTOD cd, Zep II was my fav back then. Im rediscovering my drumkit that was stacked up for 25 years, watching the youtubes, and loving this channel. 1,000 thanks to you, Sir!
Coverdale/Page is a great album though.
Nice.. that was a 1930's or earlier announcer voice... 😆
I love that amber Vistalite hang tom... I'm obsessed with it actually... I would lay down and stare at it sideways.. and tap it with my finger.. equally obsessed with that beautiful 26x14 bassdrum... 🙄
Thanks PJ!
Hell yeah!
お兄さんカッコイイ‼国は違ってもこのバンド好きな気持ちは一緒ですね。英語でなくてすみません。
l Love Led Zeppelin
どうもありがとうございました
Almost note for note.. LOL. Great job Terry.
Thanks T!!
Hi TERRY. definitely different from the classic ZEPP but it amazes me to where you get the songs!!! Terrific job...TERRY!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!!
That bit at 11:00 always gets me. He pulls it riiiight back.,
Yea-me too... It's a hell of a track!
nice snare sound
ROCK N ROLL!
nice job on the song! sounds great w phones.
Thanks Sticks! Thank you too for your longtime support!
TK
Damn man!
im cleaning up an old cb set to sell and i love how it only has 5 lugs on all 3 standard toms and 6 on the 22. honestly all thats needed and theyre less likely to loosen since theres less of them therefore holding more tension.
I always thought "The Sprockets" keyboard part at 13:43 was kind awkward and funny. Btw, great job Terry.
Thanks High! Me too-it's very robotic-ish....
you crack me up
2003Cpayne, you've probably seen this, but why wonder?
Sisters of the way-side bide their time in quiet peace
Await their place within the ring of calm
Still stand to turn in seconds of release
Await the call they know may never come
In times of lightness, no intruder dared upon
To jeopardize the course, upset the run
And all was joy and hands were raised toward the sun
As love in the halls of plenty overrun
Uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh
Still in their bliss unchallenged mighty feast
Unending dances shadowed on the day
Within their walls, their daunting formless keep
Preserved their joy and kept their doubts at bay
Faceless legions stood in readiness to weep
Just turn a coin, bring order to the fray
And everything is soon no sooner thought than deed
But no one seemed to question in anyway
Uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh
How keen the storied hunter's eye prevails upon the land
To seek the unsuspecting and the weak
And powerless the fabled sat, too smug to lift a hand
Toward the foe that threatened from the deep
Who cares to dry the cheeks of those who saddened stand
Adrift upon a sea of futile speech?
And to fall to fate and make the 'status plan'
But no one there had heaven within their reach
Singing uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh
Oh
Where was your word, where did you go?
Where was your helping, where was your bow?
Bow
Dull is the armour, cold is the day
Hard was the journey, dark was the way, way
I heard the word, I couldn't stay, oh
I couldn't stand it another day, another day
Another day, another day
Touched by the timely coming
Roused from the keeper's sleep
Release the grip, throw down the key
Held now within the knowing
Rest now within the peace
Take of the fruit, but guard the seed
They had to stay
Held now within the knowing
Rest now within the peace
Take of the fruit, but guard the seed
Take of the fruit, but guard the seed
l love. this guy totally cool man love ya
Thanks Billl!
the first part of that song i always imagined it could be almost a theme by E.L.&P..I even imagined it sung by G.Lake.Never bought that lp at the time ,only heard on friend's houses.Error.And the cover art by Hipgnosis is fantastic
maginifique !
Merci!
Those facial expressions are priceless, why not bring some of them to the stage. It's natural that people get cautious a bit on stage, but think about it, there are many more people here😎
Also, there was some guy who went to chez Bonzo to interview him, and he was playing along to ... Genesis records (!). I totally hear the Phil in this song, and not really any others.
I had a Bonham Rci vistalite set. Stupidly sold it. It was the king of drums. Wish you well in getting endorsements
Thanks Sweeper!
Terry I asked you about this cover around 1 year ago. It was well worth the wait. Thank you so much! Enjoyed the improvisation. Hoping for a more polished cover in the near future. Lightning in the studio/ basement could use some extra wattage. I’m particularly interested in your footwork for this song. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks again! BTW, this is my favorite version. Providential for me if I do say so!
I remember- sorry about the delay. I didn't realize the companion Rough Mixes were legally 'coverable'!
It’s all good brother. Worth the wait! Keep up the good work. Love your humor as well.
Hey Terry could you do another video on this, Playing along with the isolated track is a dream! But im a bit stuck with the bonham engine with this, i keep doing right arm and leg together than left and right foot. Its amazing how in the album the drums just dont have the....."depth of sound" like the isolated track. Chur bro
I want to jam with this guy!!
Muy bien
Not bad Terri. That ending right when it fades, Bonzo is on the rider and doing some wonderful in the pocket fills using his lightening foot and toms. I like the Epic better since it's less keyboards. Jimmy should have released the song adding more guitars in 2015 while featuring Plants vocals.
ITTOD has Zep's 2 most played radio songs FYI - All My Love and Fool in the Rain except for STH.
An underrated album with the keyboards over killing the chord progressions and melodies.
thanks x carouselambra , my favorite is the song remains the same
Drumming starts at 6:40
Have you seen the new Paiste 20 inch splash cymbal they had one years ago discontinued but now they've brought it back. It doesn't have anything to do with what you're talking about, but I just thought about it from a different RUclips video. it sounds awesome you'll have to have one.
I heard they were going to play this song in the fall 1980 American tour of course which never happened because of Bonzo's passing.
You're definitely 2 lugs short of a rack tom but my god you can drum!
When I was 6 u helped me play Kashmir
That's terrific, Adrian!!!!!
Thanks, you have got me to play drums. If I had not seen your video of that video I would not be playing drums:)
Terry I think you're an awesome drummer and funny too, but it seems your crashes are far away like you have to reach for them. I understand everybody is different but I see you strechin for your crashes. Just a friendly suggestion. Keep on rockin !!!!
Haha....great effort.
Flawless Awesome. You are a bit of a narcissist, but wow you can play. Hat's off to you.
I just came back from a Gaslighting convention where I sold a bunch of shirts!
